Great combination of quality and price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great tv, great quality at a very reasonable price. Pictures and sound quality are excellent.

We bought this tv last year and are still enjoying it and finding out new features. Actually, we plan to purchase another one for our pavilion area so that we can watch football outside with family and friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great picture. The TV is very heavy and when you turn the tv on it does not go back to the last input but that may be the operator

Ok for budget TV

I've had this 55UR8000 for a month now. This is the 2nd LG Smart TV I've owned, replacing the first one which was around 7 years old. My biggest gripe is the Magic Remote. Its pointer automatically appears when you open certain menus, and even if you unregister the pointer (press home and back button simultaneously) it re-registers again the next time you need to use the enter button. The quickest way to bypass the pointer is to immediately push one of the arrow buttons which temporarily deactivates it, but it will keep appearing every time you go to the home screen or other menus. Also, a steady hand is needed when using the pointer since it's easy to move the remote when pressing the enter button. Additionally, the scroll function uses the same button as enter, so sometimes all you mean to do is press enter but you end up scrolling at the same time. Luckily my old remote works with the new TV. My other complaint is the slowness of the TV to call up the settings menu. There's a full 3-second lag between pushing the settings button and the settings menu actually apearing. Not sure why this is, except it's trying to connect to the stupid pointer? My old TV had no lag at all. Picture and sound quality are adequate, after all this is an entry level tv. Of course you can adjust picture and sound settings to your liking, and I've never seen a need for a sound bar. I've tried connecting the remote to my Roku and it's inconsistent with response so I've given up and gone back to the normal Roku remote. And I like that you have the option to opt out of certain things, like seeing advertisements on the home screen or disabling video previews or sound.

Slow Interface

I bought this tv yesterday and the picture and sound quality was impressive but it had a major downside, the user interface is horribly slow and doesn't respond to your commands properly, Tubi app gets the whole tv to freeze up, super frustrating especially it's a 2023 model but doesn't feel like one.
