As a Generac employee, I was invited to test the product in exchange for my honest feedback. Myself and my close friends and my family were really impressed with the GB1000. The unboxing experience was straightforward, and we found the documentation was helpful. The first night it was in my possession, my friends and I put it through its paces, plugging in a portable heater and a car vacuum and charging a power tool battery pack as well as our phones. The GB1000 was more than capable of handling all the load we could throw at it, and calmly and quietly went about its business dispensing a steady stream of power to all devices. We liked the large colour screen as much for its clarity as for the vital information it displays, including input and output wattage and battery life but also the estimated total battery life in hours. This last read-out is dynamic, and changes based on how much power the GB1000 outputting; valuable information that lets you know how much time is left before you need to recharge. The wireless charging pad is a handy—and pretty exclusive—feature and the two USB-C charging ports are another premium that I used to rapidly charge my family's iPhones and iPads during a one-week cottage rental. On the same trip I also used the GB1000 to power a large portable fan—on the beach!—during a heatwave. When I got home, I cleaned the sand out of the car with my vacuum plugged into the portable power station for over an hour. One piece of feedback I have for making the device a little better would be to add some visual indication of which outlets and ports are controlled by the AC and DC buttons. This could take the form of a line marking which buttons control which ports. Since the wireless charging pad kind of sits on its own, i.e., is not on the front display area, you could add some text signifying that it is powered by the DC button. This might help users like me, who may not intuitively understand that the wireless pad is charged by DC current. Bottomline, the Generac GB1000 has a lot of nice premium touches, is easy to operate, rugged, has a large storage capacity, and can handle power-hungry devices with ease. So, if you are in the market for a portable battery station with a lot of storage capacity to power all of your favourite devices off the grid and during power outages, you should give this model a serious look.

I used the GB1000 to power multiple common household loads; coffee maker, leaf blower, computer, monitor and fans. As well as charging Ipads and cell phones. I was impressed that it could deliver 1,600 watts for my Keurig coffee maker. Battery capacity was adequate with a reasonable recharge time. Worked great for use of corded power tools around the house and in the yard. The GB1000 would work for power outages to provide charge cell phones and provide 120Vac to cord connected loads like lights, modem, router, TV, refrigerator and sump pump.

I had the privilege to be able to test out this product at home as a Generac employee. I was very impressed with what I observed. The ease of use, portability, capability, and appearance were all high quality. I am pleased that Generac is offering a home product like this suitable for numerous situations and uses. Can carry/move at will, not be reliant on gas or propane (electric), and power anything from your phone to a refrigerator as needed. Thumbs up!

My power went out and I have sleep apnea, I was able to plug in my CPAP machine and sleep well, without worrying about stop breathing. Great for indoor and outdoor activities.. Easy to use, setup, and charge fast.

It will charge your phone if you lay it on top. Besides charging by normal plug in, it also can charge by usb port. It comes with a convenient handle and a light on the front.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This generac GB1000 power station is a great size for portability. It weighs around 27 pounds and is easy to carry with the built in handle. It charges in a timely fashion, going from 22% when unboxed to a full 100% in about 2 1/2 hours. It comes with an AC charge cord, a car charger cord, and a solar adapter cord. The user's manual is quite detailed and very helpful, with included charts on the estimated operating time for various devices.

There are 4 outlets on the front to plug in any device plus USB ports. I cannot wait to go camping g next year to use this.

The first time I plugged it in it had a plastic smell that was somewhat strong, but dissipated after a little while. It is easy to use and has outlets for regular prong cords as well USB. I feel more secure knowing if I lose power I have a backup for my fridge and lights.

My family and I love to go camping off the grid but we still require the basic conveniences of power and my job demands that I be able to log in at any time. This product has replaced the rationing of small batteries and draining the car battery when on these trips. Highly recommend.

With the return of college football, the GB1000 Portable Power Station was the perfect addition to our tailgate! It provided ample power for our devices and entertainment needs throughout the game. When the weather took a turn for the worse, it performed just as well indoors and quietly ran in the background.
