Normal tape doesn't seem to hold up but so far this tape is working really well with those items. I received this free to test.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotch Box Lock Packaging Tape is a good quality tape. It does indeed stick instantly to boxes. The boxes are sealed and feel secured. The tape itself feels thick and very durable. You can tell that this is a high quality product. The roll is easy to start and even if it slips off the holder and re-sticks to the roll, I found it easy to restart it. Very good tape for shipping or storage. I received this product for free from 3M to evaluate.

Packing up things I no longer need and shipping them to people who want them. I used this box tape and I was highly impressed with how sturdy it was! It wasn't flimsy when I cut off a piece, and once it was on the box, it was there! No ends trying to come up, nothing. I'm now convinced this is forever my tape.

It stays stuck even to a dirty cardboard box and unlike every other tape I've tried, if you push against the box, this tape actually stays stuck holding the box closed! I usually have to put like 4 layers of moving tape on a box before I mail it in order to keep it from getting gaps in the tape if anything is stacked on it, but this tape holds so well that I literally only needed ONE piece of tape! For anyone who mails a lot of packages, or is packing up boxes to move, definitely pick this tape over the competition! Two huge thumbs up from this frequent mailer!

I live in the desert so i need excellent packing tape or it just comes right off in the heat. This tape is sooo sticky and i love it!!! It's easy to use but gets the job done! It's definitely thicker and doesn't fray/tear when it's not supposed to, yet it has great sticking power. You won't be disappointed when you use it. It was very easy to use and it really works well for packaging boxes as the tape really keeps boxes together and sealed. The tape did not tear or get caught. I love how easy it was to work with and how nicely it works on taping boxes. It is very strong and much better than other tape I have used. I really like the dispenser as well.
