In fact, it's a must and thanks to Scotch's new Box Lock Shipping Tape, I can package my items securely and have peace of mind in knowing they'll arrive at their destination in the condition in which they left....excellent!! The adhesive of this shipping/packaging tape is powerful, as is the tape itself. A lot of times I'm packaging items by myself and one-handed while holding the box top down with the other hand, which is why the superior grip and stick of this tape is especially impressive. You can be rest assured that once you place the tape where you want it, it's not going anywhere. The application is seamless and much more quieter than your common shipping tape. In addition, because this shipping tape is formulated to stick and stay, it doesn't split, tear, or fray like some. I shipped out 3 packages this past weekend, all of which were different textures of cardboard & different colors, and the Scotch Box Lock Shipping Tape adhered beautifully to each and every package! Tightly sealed & secured, yet smooth! Now that's what I call the perfect package....one that doesn't have 20 pieces of tape, but still secured well thanks to the excellent quality & performance of 3M Scotch Box Lock Shipping Tape! I decided a great way to test the strength was by using this packing tape on a box with a torn surface and filling it with something with some weight to it. I filled it with twenty-16.9 oz water bottles and my niece gave it shake test. It held up great! I will be purchasing for packing the next time I move and would highly recommend this product!

I recently purchased my first house and needed to move around the same time 3m offered me a sample of Box Lock packaging tape for my review. The timing was perfect! The tape is thicker than normal packaging tapes and it holds up really well. I didn't have to use multiple pieces to keep my boxes together which allowed me to get through most of the move with this one roll of tape! It even held up to my heaviest boxes, you know the kitchen ones with all the breakable plates and glasses. Even though I got this one for free, if I ever move again (oh my gosh I hope not LOL!) I will 100% buy this tape.

Buying the box lock packing tape with dispensers is genius. Saves time fussing with opening a roll of tape to put on a dispenser.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not only is this tape great for reinforcing and sealing boxes but it's the exceptional for putting together those flat boxes. I used it for the postal boxes that come completely flat and when I was done they felt so securely put together that they seemed as though they were always complete boxes. The dispenser works seamlessly and is really helpful when you're constructing boxes and don't have an extra set of hands to help. The blade cuts cleanly. Thos would now be my go to packing tape, I love the strength and I'm confident my boxes will stay intact. I'd also use this for constructing costumes like robots my kids love to make out of old boxes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free from 3M. I love a good packaging tape. They are useful for many types of projects or needs. This product advertises as being a good tape for cardboard boxes, and I agree! Sometimes when I package up a box, I have to press and rub all of the spots of tape connected to the package to ensure the tape adheres. Even still, I worry about it not sticking as well. I pressed this box lock tape onto my package, rubbing in all the spots, and you can "see" it adhere to the package. There is not a feeling of is it going to stay or being able to see it pulling off the package after you just applied it. I am pleased with its stickability.

Thickness to reduce splitting and tearing so multiple layers and overlapping are not necessary. Oh and lets not forget the smooth unwide and quiet release. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mail packages constantly and feel as though I'm always fighting with my rolls of packing tape. It always sticks together, peels unevenly, and makes a mess. Not this tape. The Scotch Box Lock Packaging Tape is amazing. It peels evenly, it holds securely, and the included plastic holder makes it easy to delineate where the end is and tear the tape when necessary. I love it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Scotch Box Lock Packaging tape from 3M. It works very well and even great for big boxes. IT came right on time as I'm packing to move. I ised one strip to form each a crisscross pattern On my boxes. The dispenser is easy to use and the tape does not wobble in the dispenser. I like the tape holder that keeps the tape from sticking to the roll. There's a plastic piece on the dispenser that I actually used to hold onto my hand for easier and faster taping. This scotch tape and it's dispenser made my packaging chore go by faster and better. I recommend it.

It splits pretty easily so starting the roll was somewhat annoying, but once it got started it dispensed easily and quietly. Stickiness doesn't seem to be the "extreme grip" advertised because I am able to peel it back off, but after some rubbing it seems sticky enough to keep a package closed.
