Once you get it setup up, its pretty easy to use. But really, I had to take a star off because of Garmin's round about setup process using Connect. They could use a lesson from apple. Why do i have to dig down into menus to setup this new device. I should be able to turn on the device, start Connect on my phone and have the new device recognized and start the install.

I have been using the Garmin Index to track my body recomp progress. The scale is really easy to use and set up. I like that you can have different profiles and that it recognizes/assumes the person standing on it. My scale would mix up my partner and I quite a bit; but at that time, we were really similar in body composition so I can see how it would get confused. I appreciate all of the different stats it provides, instead of just “weight”. I also like that it syncs directly to my Garmin Connect app so that I can view my stats on my phone at a later time. The stats seem pretty accurate but I guess you will only ever know if you have something to compare it too (I don’t).

Great product overall. I cannot say I am 100% confident in how well this device measures body fat (BF), especially for us older folks who are in decent (or better) shape. This device measures my BF at least 5% higher than actual BF. I suspect that BF calculation seems to be based substantially on demographic information (age and gender). I know Garmin introduced an update that lets you enter body measurements from another source, so I will probably pay the $$ for a DEXA measurement and go from there. Still a good device overall.

The set up on this thing is hard. I have fought with it for many hours, trying to get it to pair to both me and my wife phone. I can get it to pair of my phone and it kicks her off. I can get it to pair of her phone, and then it kicks me off. There's gotta be an easier way, or else a return.

I bought this a month ago to replace my earlier version that stopped recognizing me and putting my weight-ins to my husband's account. We are at least 10 lbs different. I got so frustrated that I bought the S2. Unfortunately, the same problem emerged. I had to kick him out of the account to get my weigh-ins to record to my account. I have deleted all the rogue measurements. Now that I have 2 weeks of data on my account, I have invited him back in. I look forward to see if the scale recognizes me when I return. This is definitely a frustrating part of this product, there is no way to get it to switch users effectively. If there was a button and a longer window to change users it would work better.

It's too soon to tell if I like it or not. I just switched from a Fitbit Aria to Garmin Index, and my body fat % is completely different. Fitbit said it was 17% (after decreasing from 26% over months of working out), while Garmin scale says it's 25%. So, I don't know which one to believe, and how they each calculate this number.

I really like all the information this scale gives with each weigh in and as an added bonus it gives the days temperatures. The only bad mark on this scale is that it doesn't seem to want to turn on just by stepping on the scale. I almost always have to pick it up to get it to register that I want to use it.

I can't figure out how to get my scale to upload to my phone. So far the videos haven't helped. I can't get past the torso with the question mark. Still trying. This MIGHT be a great product. So far I'm kinda disappointed.

Just the motivation I needed. In addition weight, I love the other metrics of BMI, %body fat, muscle comp etc. and I like that it recognizes other users in the family.

The sleep tracker does not work. I go to bed a 10pm but when I get up for a minute or 2 to go to the restroom or something, it wont track me going to bed at the original time. Instead it tracks me going to at 1130pm, 1am, or whatever time I wake up for a min or 2.
