What a VALUABLE instrument !!!!!

What a WELL MADE SCALE! As a JFK era HS varsity athlete and then college recruited (NOT football/basketball/baseball), I'm DELIGHTED we have "MAHA" and a new emphasis on health & fitness! As a retired Marine Engineer, I'm a big fan of "steam gauges" and "chart recorders" and the way this scale "connects" with my iPhone and desktop login makes ME SMILE! Athletes, military officers and others appreciate the "Hawthorne Effect" where observation affects performance. "The Arena" is not for the faint of heart! You don't need to "share" or broadcast your personal metrics to work on getting in better shape. As "The Barb" quipped, "to thine own self be true!" So USE THIS TOOL for YOU. Walk, bike, swim, paddle, FISH 365 in SWFL and now add "data" to that wonderful FEELING of being ALIVE in 2025 (and counting). Compare your own "score" to USA national standards and SMILE. You're gonna LIKE IT!

No connectivity

The scale worked but it couldn't pass data to my Garmin Connect App. Which is why I brought it. I expected more from Garmin. I also returned the Garmin Blood Pressure device. It readings we way off in comparison to two other solid devices that I have access to. This is coming from a big Garmin fan who owns several of there watches.

Solid Scale with good data

The Index S2 has been a solid scale for us with good data. We've had it for many years and recently had a minor glitch that caused the scale to be replaced under warranty. The replacement is working just fine. I'm not sure that the exact numbers on composition are super accurate, like most scales that work off electrical impedance, but I am pretty confident that the trends are accurate. Integrates well with the other Garmin devices we own.

Great Integration, Useful Trends. But Impedance Has Limits

The Garmin scale syncs seamlessly with Garmin Connect and clearly shows whether you’re up or down (and by how much) from your last weigh-in, which makes tracking progress simple. Build quality and connectivity are solid, and for anyone already using Garmin devices, this is a great addition. Like all impedance-based scales, some readings can fluctuate unrealistically (e.g., “bone weight”), so it’s best for spotting trends rather than exact numbers. For an accurate baseline BMI and body composition, you’ll need an in-body scan, which you can often get free at a military base or higher-end supplement shop and then input into the app. Excellent for integration and progress tracking, just don’t expect lab-grade precision out of the box.

Pretty Nice Scale

I have now had this scale for a month and it is pretty good. It is a bit tricky to set up. Do not have your 11 year old around it when setting up the people. After I set my profile up she jumped on it and the scale though I lost 104 pounds in a few minutes and gave some warnings. I could not clear the reading so had to reset the scale, buit that was the only hiccup.

Disappointment

I work as a truck driver. I use a Garmin Fenix 7X watch and decided to buy an Index S2 scale. A big and unpleasant surprise for me was that the scale cannot be synchronized with a smartphone and watch via Bluetooth. Since I rarely have access to Wi-Fi networks due to my work, the scale turned out to be completely unsuitable. Most likely, I will return it to the store. The rest of the functions work like on regular smart scales.

Awesome!

The convenience and extra features make this an awesome purchase. So much easier to maintain data over the long run. Nothing easier than standing in the scale for 5 seconds and letting it do the calculations. Very glad I bought this and I highly recommend it.

Connected scale is good but body fat feature isn’t

The scale links to my profile and keeps a record in Garmin connect which is great. However, the lack of of hand points or additional sensors leaves the body fat reading wildly inaccurate. The body fat reading vs In body or bod pod readings is off by nearly 10%.

How are they even shipping these out.

I have already returned the device to Garmin. I used it for about a week, and it became clear that the BMI and body fat percentage readings were significantly inaccurate. It was indicating that my body fat was 25%, while I am a very fit individual with a body fat percentage that ranges between 8% and 11% as measured by the Bod Pod. Aside from providing the correct body weight, this device is essentially useless.

Works well with Garmin app and Garmin 965

I bought this a few weeks ago. I like it. It sinks well with Garmin App. It’s a little hard to wake up in the morning. I was hoping it would tell me how much fluid I lost after a run, but that category isn’t there. Otherwise, I like it and it seems accurate.
