The product was just what I was looking for and the price was right. It seems to be doing the job it was intended for at a reasonable price. It’s hard to tell how well the disinfectant works but going by the ingredients I think it’ll fine for the job.
Bed Bugs
This stuff kills bed bugs! Spray your couches, spray your mattress, launder your linens. In about 2-4 weeks, depending on how often you spray and how bog the infestation, you will be bed bug free. Try it. Spray one and watch it die upon contact. Amazing stuff.
A note to our customers: While we appreciate the positive review so much, use of OdoBan against bedbugs is not an approved use pattern.
Excellent product.
The best product ever-This is prefect through out the house. I love to use it on the sofa the carpet and even the bed to refresh the pillows and bed spread. I spray in the air too and I always, always love eucalyptus. It does make the air the house smell and feel different. Always buy, will buy. Thank you.
You will not regret buying!
I use this for everything : I keep spray bottles diluted at the proper strength (use distilled water for dilution) in the kitchen, bath, laundry room (where my dog kennel is located). I use full strength as a fabric softener / laundry sanitizer in pretty much every load of laundry. I keep a spray bottle near the front door for sanitizing shoes when I have to go shopping. (I live in the rural South, where apparently all human males are taught that the proper way to dispose of respiratory secretions is to spit them onto the pavement - SMH).I agree that the eucalyptus scent translates nearer to Eucalyptus-Spearmint blend. The lavender scent is a bit more lavendin than true lavender. The takeaway is that both scents are very light, pleasant, non-chemical. I use a washable microfiber flat mop. I like that I can just moisten the microfiber pad with water, spray a spill with my pre-diluted solution, and go on about my day. As a retired nurse, it gives me great peace of mind knowing this kills most disease-causing germs as well.
New favorite
I started using Odoban about 6 months ago. I now use it for everything. It cleans, disinfects and deodorizers. I love using it in my laundry instead of fabric softener. It eliminates static and leaves a fresh smell. The packaging gives instructions on how to dilute for disinfection and other uses. I really like how fresh smelling is and doesn't just mask odors. It also gentle on skin. My skin reacts to cleaners if I don't wear gloves but I haven't had a problem with Odoban. I have tried the Eucalyptus and Lavender scents. Both are great although I wouldn't say that it smells like eucalyptus or lavender. Just a clean, fresh scent that isn't too heavy or chemical. Sam's has the best deal. The 4 pack is fantastic value and will last a really long time. A must for anyone with potty training kids or pets!
Excellent, Versatile, and Well-Priced Product!!
Ignore low ratings given based on not seeing it listed on the EPA’s List N, they show their ignorance of bureaucratic processes, biology, and chemistry. Should I also mention that if you look at other products like Lysol and Clorox disinfectant sprays that are on the EPA’s List N you will see that their active ingredient is the same but at a lesser concentration because they are pre-diluted for immediate use? I will state, tho', if you are using this products in the hopes it will help with something like non-enveloped viruses like norovirus, parvovirus, or rhinovirus, etc., then Odoban is not a good choice. Its active ingredient (as well as non-bleach cleaners like Lysol, Clorox, etc.) is essentially ineffective against non-enveloped viruses (most difficult type to inactive/kill). Cleaners with bleach (sodium hypochlorite) or hydrogen peroxide (H202) are best. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SCIENTIFIC-BASED EXPLANATION & REASONING ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The family of human coronaviruses are enveloped viruses that are the most susceptible to inactivation by osmotic shock (are hydrophobic). That is, there is a lipid/protein layer that surrounds the virus. The active ingredient in Odoban causes a breach in this lipid/protein envelope/wall and water to enter the virus and inactivate it by evoking osmotic shock. The active ingredient in Odoban (Alkyl [C14 50%, C12 40%, C16 10%] dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride) has been scientifically proven to be effective in inactivating (i.e., ‘killing’) enveloped viruses by causing osmotic shock with a concentration as low as 0.2% (but 0.4% is typically the lowest threshold used for the purposes of sanitisation and disinfection in commercial/industrial-type settings). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE, PLEASE FOLLOW DILUTION INSTRUCTIONS ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Unless you are a chemist, biologist, medical doctor, etc., who understands how Quaternary Ammonium Compounds [QACs] work and can manipulate concentrations safely for use.) Why dilute to instruction and not use the full-strength concentration? Recommended dilution rates are based on what the EPA (based on scientific studies) recommends for optimal sanitation and disinfection. A proper balance between the active ingredient and water is required to inactive a virus by breaching its enveloped layer and allowing in the highest amount of water to induce osmotic shock. Too little or too much of the active ingredient as it relates to water will cause sanitation or disinfection to take longer because too little or too much concentration of the active ingredient caused less water to enter the virus than an optimal concentration of the active ingredient would have.
Smells great nothing more
First time ever using this product and I was excited to find it at Samsclub since it's hard to find any disinfectant during these Covid19 hard times. I bought the 4 pack. I add 6 oz odoban solutions to a 32 oz bottle and fill the bottle with tap water to use as an disinfectant. I used it for a couple of days and it smell really good. However after further research into the product I come to realized that this product did not show up on the EPA List N for disinfectant use against SARS and Covid2. Since this product is not listed with the EPA, it means either the EPA list is not updated as of this review OR this product do not qualified as kill 99.9% germs on contact according to the EPA. The EPA Reg. No. 66243-2 on the bottle of OdoBan returned with no result found on the EPA List N search. Since then, I am skeptical about using this product as an disinfectant, but continue to use it more as a odor eliminator. Now if I miss something here, please explain.
OdoBan® is an EPA registered disinfectant. The EPA Registration No. is 66243-2. Being an EPA Registered disinfectant does not automatically make a product eligible to be on List N, nor does being virucidal mean being able to kill ALL viruses. The EPA's Emerging Viral Pathogen program exists specifically for situations where there is a new viral threat that has not or cannot be tested yet. This guidance allows companies to recommend disinfectants that have previously tested claims for viruses that are harder to kill than the current threat, and that have completed the applications before an outbreak occurs to be included. In other words, the EPA may recommend products because they are reasonably certain they will kill a virus even though they may have never been tested on that particular virus in a laboratory. Sorry for the long answer! Some questions just don't have a short answer. At the time of this writing, testing has not been completed on OdoBan for use against Sars-Cov-2.

Disappointed!!!!!
I’ve use this product many times but this recent purchase of it seems to be watered down.unsatis
We're so sorry you're unhappy with your most recent purchase of OdoBan. If you would like to contact us with the lot code on the bottle, we can check the batch that it came from. The lot code is an inkjet scanned print that looks something like this: 12312C12345. Newer, fresher OdoBan tends to have a lighter smelling fragrance than one that is several months old or older. Fragrance intensifies over time. With demand for disinfectants being so high right now, all the OdoBan on shelves is quite fresh as it sells out so quickly. Therefore, any OdoBan that you purchase right now will seem to have a lighter fragrance than OdoBan that you may have had at home for a year or more.
