[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just setup this sound bar system in my office and I'm pretty impressed. I love that the subwoofer (which then drives the rears) is wirelessly connected to the soundbar. It was so much easier than trying to run wires all around the room. I mounted the rears using the included mounts and quickly ran the connections back to the sub. I then plugged in the soundbar, hooked it to the ARC port on my TV and everything set itself up (perhaps a benefit of using a Vizio soundbar with a Vizio TV, it immediately recognized the sound bar and did all its own configuration). I ran a quick sound test to verify that all the speakers were working. It's nice that you don't need to pair the sub to the soundbar, it's all ready to go out of the box. Then I fired up some videos to test out the sound and after a couple tweaks of levels to get things dialed in exactly the way I wanted it, I was 100% ready to be immersed in full Atmos surround glory. As a long time AV geek, I'm really impressed by how much quality sound comes out of such a small setup. I didn't want deal with mounting and wiring 8+ speakers like I have in my media room, but wanted to be able to watch shows and movies in my office with more than just TV speakers and this really sounds great.

I feel like a robbed Vizio. I can't believe how good this sounds for the price I paid. From cutting open the box to fully set-up took only about 30 minutes. All of the cables were long enough and the instructions were clear. Out-of-the-box, the sound made me giggle like a school girl. a 1000% improvement from the old soundbar. Then I spent another hour or so tweaking the sound and familiarizing myself with all the ways I could customize the sound for my space. I work in audio. I was able to get the soundbar dialed in to where I am completely happy. Even at low levels the audio is full. And because we live in a Multi-unit house, being able to hear when the level was low, was something my old soundbar could not accomplish, but this one is wonderful. Dialogue is crisp and present. And the excitement of watching movies has increased exponentially. And at full volume, the neighbors down the block can hear me. I was especially pleased with the ability to customize the levels of the Rear and Center speakers. The Dialogue Level is a simple way to increase the punhc of high-mids. If I had one complaint, I would have liked at least a 15 band EQ. As it is now, between the BASS, TREBLE, DIALAOGUE and SUB level, I have about 5 bands of EQ I can control. Plus what is on the TV. So in summation, is this the best sounding system that is out there? No...BUT! At this price point...it beats the competition. This is bringing a Missle Launcher to a Knife Fight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 5.1 Vizio soundbar package is a great flexibile package that improves the viewing experience offered by just what the TV puts out. The package includes everything needed including a sound bar, a sub woofer and a pair of surround speakers. I am not an audiophile but just a regular joe that is interested in enhancing my viewing experience of sports, movies, etc. in addition to listening to music. The package that arrived was a puzzle and it certainly takes a bit of effort to get out the stuff out of the box! On the good side, everything needed is provided including HDMI cable, mounting hardware, etc. First time setup is very quick, efficient and simple. I did not get it right the first time. After a quick review of the provided setup guide, I was up and running in seconds. I had plugged in the HDMI cable wrong! I have this installed in my bedroom to go with my Sony TV. The sound bar slides perfectly under my Sony TV and is inobtrusive. The sub-woofer sits next to the night stand and the small surround speakers sit on the nightstand on either side of the bed. I am sure I will move them around later but it was the easiest and fastest setup I have done. The satellite speakers connect via color coded wires to the sub-woofer and they are easily hidden at the back of the room. The soundbar automatically paired up with the subwoofer and I did not even have to push a button. The wireless pairing also provides flexibility and options for placement. And no wires hanging all over the place from the soundbar at the front of the room to the subwoofer at the back of the room is a winner in my book! Overall, Vizio did an excellent job with making this plug and play out of the box. The low profile and grey color of the bar and speakers makes it easy to blend and add it to existing environments. The sound bar, the subwoofer and speakers were all smaller than I thought, but they pump out great sound despite the smaller size. The system handled most of the audio and video I played with aplomb but I did run into some I would have loved more sharpness. The subwoofer is light in weight and but good with performance given its size. The small foot print makes placement easy and also helps with blending it in the environment. I am a bit partial on the remote. While I like the display feature, I think an app would be a good complement to help customize the setup. A bit cumbersome doing it with a remote, atleast for me. Multiple input ports are available and located at the back. HDMI Out (eARC), HDMI In, USB in, Optiical and a couple of 3.5mm AUX IN ports. And a bluetooth connection option for wireless conncetions from mobile devices which I use to stream music. The system automatically switches between inputs when you turn the different inputs on. I do run into glitches sometimes when multiple inputs are active at the same time. I end up needing to cycle through them using the remote to get the right one going. The device is response with hardly any noticeable lag. Overall, an impressive pacakge with quality sound and solid performance that can be easily setup and is flexibile to install anywhere you want. I might even take this when I go camping!!

I've owned multiple Vizio products for over 10 years (most are still working perfectly), and they have all served me well. This sound bar is amazing, even though I did have to update the firmware. Thank you for clear online instructions. Please keep making your great products!

I have purchased 5.1 Vizio sound bar in the past, very good bass, quality and set up, but this one disappointed me in the fact that the eARC has issues, it does not work, purchased a Sony XBR 90H and CEC did not recognize the soundbar, I thought it was the TV so I got the Vizio 55 OLED and in my dismay it did not recognize the soundbar either, purchase a 2.1 HDMI high end cable hoping that thas the problem, but nope still did not recognize the soundbar no audio control no Dolby Atmos DTS X sound nothing, it only worked if I hooked up the optical cable but that is only Dolby Digital 5.1, I am soooo disappointed in this soundbar, I hope Vizio is getting some kind of firmware update for this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Vizio system is very simple to install it comes with a main front speaker bar and 2 satellites that connects to a subwoofer. The beauty is that you can have speakers in the back (behind you) for which you don't need to connect with wires from the TV. The TV connects to your main front sound bar, then the main sound bar connect wireless to subwoofer and satellites. I was worried, because I had bought a similar system, in the past, but the wireless connection was not reliable and disconnections were frequent. With this Vizio model, it all works very well, without any glitch. The satellites can work in different modes, main ones being 5.1 surround type of ambience or just used as additional speakers duplicating front bar sound (dual mode), which I personally prefer. You can also balance the volume between front and back, left and right, have many ways of tuning the different components and a test mode. Remote has a small display which helps a lot going through different setup With the HDMI ARC, you don't have the need for multiple remotes. Don't expect to turn your home into a movie theater but for a regular sized living or bedroom it will give you plenty of power, enough flexibility, direct bluetooth connectivity for music .... It also comes with all cables (optical, hdmi, wall brackets ...) Good investment! all the family loves it!

However I want the readers to be more aware than I was ( and admittedly this is true of ANY new soundbar/older TV combo, not just a Vizio issue). When the soundbar arrived I eagerly unpacked it and started to set it up. Oops, my older (6-7 yrs) TV did not have the HDMI/ARC output nor an optical output from the TV. The only TV output was Coaxial/Digital. I'm too stubborn to send this highly acclaimed soundbar, so after exhaustive research I misfired on one option, returned it and finally found my solution, a "Optical to Coaxial or Coax to Optical Digital Audio Converter Adapter, Bi-Directional Digital Coaxial to/from SPDIF Optical (Toslink) Audio Signal Converter/Repeater". Voila! I love my Vizio!

Really love this soundbar for the living room. Enhances all the games and music
