never really had a problem with this American Express gift card. However, I always have to call customer service for the visas to unblock it because it keeps on blocking itself everywhere I use; so then you have to prove yourself who you are to the customer service in order for them to unblock it. It’s a pain in the butt stick to American Express and MasterCard.

I had a terrible experience with this card. When I tried to activate the card - it said it was unsuccessful. So I connected with customer service number on the back of the card - and they started telling me that they need to investigate this, that it would take 3 business days - that they need a copy of my drivers license, copy of the gift card, copy of the receipt. I didn't expect to spend that much time dealing with this. I called Walmart.com and the manager resolved the issue for me successfully. But still I spend two hours on the phone trying to activate this card. Don't buy it!

Started buying Amex prepaid cards instead of Vanilla Visa or Mastercards because... Multiple cards shipped prior from Walmart unactivated. With no useful customer support, left to deal with 3rd party issuer and consume weeks of time. American Express prepaid cards had been fine until last purchase. Their online website just doesn't work for me. Their phone system works. However, you need to carefully look at the back of the card and use correct phone number for it. Oddly, both Vanilla and AMEX have identical voice systems. Same voice, everything. Quite easy to get dizzy if you are checking multiple card balances. Walmart has to do better with the Vanilla Cards and get their support workers educated on the products and what to do when not activated.

I purchased two giftcards at the same time and followed the directions given for activating themm upon arrival. The American Express card us still not activated and I sent a email concerning this about 4 days ago with the understanding someone from the escalation team would be getting back with me within 24 hours. Nobody has contacted me as of yet and I feel I have been dupped yet aagain by the great Wal-Mart organization. I am very discussed by the whole issue and feel like all that has happened is my money has been stolen from me again! If by chance anyone reads my note, just do the right thing and get the card activated so it can be utilized as intended!

Not so good I tried using it to pay a co pay at a doctor's office and using it a Starbucks there systems would not take it it wasn't set up for it supposedly who would have thought

Worked great no issues I was able to use the card right away first purchase i ordered food online 👍

This was purchased off my stolen credit card. Look the thief up on camera they had a field day with my credit card.

This car is much more flexible than any of your other card I sent these to my children for medical bills and food

My cards arrived none active and it has been a nightmare trying to prove that I actually purchased these items to have them active!!
