Great product for CA power shut downs

Only have a few hours on the unit, but great so far. Very low noise! Love the dual fuel feature, Had to use it as I was running low on gas, but had 4 tanks of propane.. Very easy to move around with the wheels and handle set up. Next project will be to install a transfer switch with 10 circuits so I can get rid of the cords in the house. Over all a great product for Calif. screwed up power issues today. Power off goes for days. And we still have the fires anyway. Wife is very happy as she doesn't have to worry any longer about power for her oxygen machine. This product is a life saver.

What a great generator!

It has not only met but truly exceeded my expectations. This unit has proven itself to be a remarkably reliable power solution during the hurricane season. When the Westinghouse iGen5000DF dual fuel inverter generator arrived, the box itself was a bit dinged up, which was a minor concern at first. However, once unpacked and set up, it was perfectly fine and has consistently performed as expected. I haven't noticed any power surges or irregularities. It just reliably puts out the power it's rated for. The dual-fuel capability is great because it’s hard to get gas when the hurricanes are heading our way. The controls are intuitive enough. I've also been impressed by its noise level; it runs noticeably quieter than some other units I've encountered in the past. All in all, the Westinghouse iGen5000DF has been a dependable piece of equipment. It simply works, providing consistent, relatively quiet power, and the dual-fuel feature is a real bonus for practical use. It ran our fridge, fans, some lights, air fryer and charged our phones at the same time.

First impression: Very quiet, almost perfect.

Just purchased the iGen4500DF after much consideration. Will be used for boondocking with a 30amp travel trailer and also for replacing an older emergency backup generator for my home. It’s a bit heavy for lifting into the back of my truck, so I’ll need to figure out a way to transport/move it, but I purchased this one because it will handle both of the purposes I intend to use it for. I connected it to my travel trailer and ran it on propane for two hours, varying the load with a/c, refrigerator and lights as a break in run. The only things I’ve seen so far that I would prefer to be different are (1) a better way of draining the engine oil, and (2) a toggle style main circuit breaker to allow connecting or disconnecting the plugs with the unit running and no power output to the receptacles.

Quiet, great all around package!

Did a lot of research before buying this. This fit the bill for all around variety of features, fuel flexibility, low sound output, etc. Very happy. Haven't used on heavy load yet, but ran it for awhile to test out. Started right up and ran very smooth.

Quiet an Very well made

We have been waiting to upgrade our FullTime Generator for our cabin. This generator is what we've been waiting for! Dual Fuel, Inverter, remote start and adequate to power all household things! And, it's quieter than outlr smaller Honda! This is a great generator!

EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED

I did a lot of research before I choose this generator. Being partially disabled I have trouble lifting and moving heavy items. This unit works for me. I wanted something to use while camping and for the power outages that we have every year. This has the POWER that I need. It's QUITE to run. I wont feel guilty running this and waking up the neighbors. I wanted DUEL FUEL, gas is getting stupid to buy these days. It is HEAVY, I knew that going in to it. A little over a hundred pounds. The TELE-SCOPING HANDLE fixes the problem of moving it around. This handle comes out of the bottom of the unit not the top. By coming off the bottom it gives you a much better angel to hold and move it around without using just your arms. The 2 LARGE HANDLES on the top make it easier to lift.( My son lifts it for me when I can't) The REMOTE is a really nice feature. No pulling a cord to get it started. There is one but just as a backup to the backup. I don't have to get up in the morning when it's cold outside to start the generator. Now I just push a button and bingo. I can run my microwave and furnace and anything else I want. I can start my day with a nice hot cup of coco and not set a foot outside. NO NEED FOR A BATTERY TENDER. This has built in recharging and comes with the cord that you just plug into the control panel. Some of the other little things that I like. It comes with a small tool kit that has the tools you need to do the usual maintenance. A little funnel so you don't make a mess filling it with oil. The 1 down fall is the location of the bolt to empty the oil when doing an oil change. I will be looking for something to make that easier. All in all this is a great unit. If you need or want a generator as an emergency backup or an alternate power source while camping you can not go wrong with this unit. I highly recommend this unit.

Had all the features I was looing for

Ran great during the break in period, changed oil and ran it at home. Getting ready for a trip, my wife said she smells gas. The generator then sputtered then died, like it was running out of gas. I took off the side panel and noticed gas leaking all over the place. Somewhere at the fuel line. I cleaned up what I could and let it sit overnight. The gas leaked all over the wiring and god only knows what else. It now will not come close to starting. Its too bad this gen. was the only one with the features I wanted at a reasonable price. It had only 23 hours on it all break in hrs.

So far so good

Got it today. In process of filling oil dropped dipstick and it fell down under the floor panel. Because i’d added oil it made it way more difficut as tilting it would have lex to oil gushing out if the dipstick hole. Took a plumbing camera a lond of long curved hemostats and an hour of fiddling to retrieve it. The oil fill/change system is this thing’s achilles heel. Definitely not looking forward to the first oil change. Once that was done on to the propane. The regulator assembly is super big and a but clunky to have hanging off the bottle with its weight riding on the connection. Propane line is very short, necessitating keeping the bottle right next to the gennie. Operationally it was fine. Started right up, ran for 5 hours powering a big fan and an rv converter with occasional a/c unit power which is ultimately the reason for the purchase. And for that it appears it’ll do just fine. Will update when its got some hours on it of real world use. Thys far though it’s better than the pair of paralled Ryobi’s its replacing. They would often struggle just to light off the a/c unit, let alone anything else. While I cant fire up both the 13,500 and the 10,200 a/c’s (as least on propane) it does handle the big one woth biatloads of breathing room. Much quieter than the ryobi’s were as well.

Very simple

I just took delivery of my new Westinghouse igen4500DF. Very simple to prepare for operation! Extremely quiet when running. Starts with key fob, push button, and pulling the starter rope is very easy. I looked for days to find what I wanted, and this was worth the wait! I love the Duel Fuel feature! Propane is so much cheaper than gas. We got this for our new camper and can't wait to hit the road! Thanks Westinghouse!!!

Great features and dual fuel

A lot of times people buy too much generator power and end up burning fuel needlessly. Make sure you do the math to figure out what you absolutely need in terms of appliances and supplemental items when there’s a power outage. The iGen4500DF hit all the sweet spot for power, data, and duration.
