I have had this a couple of years. Other than letting it sit too long instead of firing it up every month, this has worked great. Last night, with friend in need after no power all day, I pulled it out. Battery was low so didn't crank on the first two starts, but one pull on the crank and it fired right up. Ran all night and just refilled an hour ago. Keeping two freezers and a fridge running and my friend is VERY happy. I bought this for my RV and have run it with AC going at times just to exercise it. Never a problem.

I reviewed a lot of generators, and decided the Igen4500DF was the best one on the market. I had to wait 6 months for production to meet demand, but I finally go it. I was tempted to buy another brand because they were available, but so glad I waited. Suits my needs perfectly, and works like a charm!

Unit arrived quickly and with no physical damage. Started right up on propane, but kept surging on idle. Contacted customer service and they are sending a new carburetor for me to replace, if I feel handy enough. If not, they offered for me to take it to a authorized shop. I will wait and see what is involved. Part is on its way. If it wasn't for the carburetor issue, I would give 5 stars. Really meets my needs.

Building an off-grid cabin in West Texas. This generator will be used as back-up to my solar array. The unit is well built and performs as advertised. Quiet and, so far, 100% reliable. Initial startup was on propane. Switching to gasoline and back again was seamless. The dual fuel capability is a big plus.

The generator came after a backlog of about 2 months. Setup was easy and it fired right up after putting gas into it. it is every bit as quite as the comparable competitor units for twice the money. push button start and keyfob remote are a nice touch.

I purchased this generator due to the terrible hurricanes last year in Florida. I was not going to be without a generator this year. I reviewed many generators, and this one seemed that it would fit our needs the best. The unit had high reviews, and we were able to purchase online and pick up at Home Improvement store within a few days of ordering. Reason for the 4 stars, is that it would not start with a gasoline hook up, it started and ran with the propane, but for some reason would not start with gasoline, plus the remote Fob was missing from the box. I contacted Westinghouse and they sent me an email with maintenance instructions regarding cleaning the carburetor. This was not really helpful, it was brand new, it should just start right out of the box without me having to clean a brand-new carburetor. I was finally able to get the generator running on gasoline, it appears, I may not have put enough gas in to begin with, I did not have to clean the carburetor, and it would have been helpful if service would have suggested other options for resolution. None the less, it is now working. I have not used it yet for an extended period of time, only to make sure it starts. Hurricane season just started, and I will update my review after we are able to use it for longer than just starting it. I would be just fine not using it, if it means no hurricanes this year.

I purchased this dual fuel iGen4500 DFc generator a month ago and though I have not needed it for a power outage yet, that is primarily why I purchased it. I had help from a neighbor who is more experienced with generators than I to set it up and get it running. I then ran it myself for the 5 hour break in period that day as we were expecting a storm. I have given it 4 stars because it was a bit challenging to get the battery hooked up, due to the fiddly strap and positioning it properly. Also, it took a few tries to get it to start, and finally started it with the remote at a distance. The instructions said to vary the load during the break in period, and I used a hair dryer to accomplish that. I’m hopeful that I can give a more detailed review after using it for a time. I chose it because it has features that allow me, a senior female, to move it around easily, use different fuels, and use the digital readout to give me up to date info on fuel, load, running time etc.

Waited months and months for this! There is nothing else like it on the market so I decided to just wait. Wow, everything works fantastic and it is SOOOO QUIET!! I will be using mine exclusively on propane. The keyfob remote starts it right up, the power meter scans thru all the data to keep you informed of it's performance, it's easy to move around with the "suit case handle" that pulls out. As long as it holds up under normal and well cared for use this will be a true winner! I am wondering... -There is gas smell in the tank from factory test? Should I keep a small amount of gas in there with Stabil additive or something so it doesn't clog? I was hoping it would be clean and I would just never add gas. -Also, does anyone know of a way to monitor battery voltage and have it start and stop the gen? If I could figure something to work the keyfob automatically that would do it.

Just recently bought my 4500DF. I've run it through a break-in process and so far I'm very impressed. I expected to have quite a bit of junk in the first couple of oil changes but surprisingly everything came out reasonable clean. The generator is very quite and I'm anticipating many years of good service from it.

This was purchased as an alternative for home electric use if needed. Was started up after initial purchase, worked great! Was started every few months to ensure it was working properly. Unit ran well on both, propane, and gas. Fuel was ran out completely with each run. Recently, tried starting it, and unit will start on propane, but will not start on gas. Unit has less than 3 hours run time. This last attempt to start was approximately 6 months ago. Was very, very disappointed and did not want to leave a review at that time. This is our first generator purchase and unfortunately, it is a let down. Gas was our primary fuel and propane was to be a backup. Unit sits in shop taking up space. Expected unit to work with no headaches. We paid good money and thought we purchased a good unit. Disappointed!
