Simple, powerful, and long over due

With a 100 gallon propane tank and this unit -- my mind is put at ease. I waited too long to get a dual fuel unit like this. The unit was easy to setup, install the propane line, and test. It will be used for backup purposes for the entire family. Looking forward to many years of service.

Forget all the paid"Best Inverter Generator" sites

After a very long exhausting comparison of all the current generators out there and a very in-depth review of all the review websites that showcase the companies that have given them the most money... This is the very best generator spec for spec. It runs any fuel (including Natural Gas if you look up an easy conversion) It has both a battery and a pull start just in case your battery is low. It's quiet and has a remote. This generator packs all the features you need into an amazing package. Best of all in my opinion it is very frugal on both gasoline and propane. All this adds up to a fantastic generator...

Great Generator

I bought this almost a month ago and I filled it with oil and gas and run it at an idle for break in for the next oil change one hour a day and it started right away no problem and I was in a little fear that it was going to be kinda noisy but to my surprise it's not much louder then my two eu2000i Honda generator's so I'm pleased with it so far.

It was just what I was looking for.

I was a little worried when package arrived the box was ripped open on the side, bottom had no tape & top tape had come lose, only thing keeping it together was one nylon band the other must have broken off. Luckily generator was fine & looked great. I checked it out, read manual & got it ready for operation, didn't gas or start it I got it for power-outages & didn't want to put gas in just to run it & have to drain tank & carb again to store it. I'm counting on Westinghouse quality name & quality control for it to be ready when I need it but I might use it before then.

Fantastically Quiet and Powerful Generator

I've been looking for a generator so we can expand our camping adventures to include boondocking. Many of the places we want to visit are in remote areas and while having electricity is not absolutely essential, it is a nice perk. After considerable research, I decided on the Westinghouse iGen4500DF for all of its features, especially the dual fuel capabilities. It was delivered in a robust box with more than an amble amount of foam packaging. Setup was super easy with the include oil, funnel and quick connect battery. In less than 30mins from unboxing, I had the generator running for a break in period. It fired right up on the first try and after a few seconds (while the automatic choke did its thing) it got very quiet. Then I switched it to eco-mode and couldn't believe that it got even quieter. I called my wife over to take a listen and she couldn't hear it running until she was about 20ft away. We plugged in our RV and began turning on appliances. It handled everything we threw at it including a 15K btu A/C, electric hot water heater, refrigerator, and coffee maker. We were careful not to overload the generator and turned off some equipment before turning something else on. 3700 watts gives us more than enough power to be comfortable when we are dispersed camping. The telescoping handle makes moving the generator a breeze. At a dry weight of 98lbs, this unit isn't exactly light. However, with the long handle, pulling it around isn't a chore.

I like the dashboard. Easy to read and use

Bought this about two weeks ago. Just got it. Took it out the box today and running it through the break in procedure with the break oil provided. It started right away. Ran it a little while on gas and decided to finish the break in on propane. Easy to hook up and switch fuel supply. Runs smoother on propane than gas. But that makes sense, I expected that. I am an old propane guy. Engines always run better on propane.

Super Quiet

I was able to test run my generator today. I was so pleased to have it start right up without a single problem. Running in propane mode was incredibly quiet. The remote start will be a real step saver. I am looking forward to our first trip out to give it a real time test.

Older woman compatible!

As an older woman living alone, I need reliable power but also need it to be something I can work on my own. I have no experience with small engines, but have set it up and done a trial run to power my home. Yes, I needed some help to learn how, but now I feel confident that I can work it during the next power outage. I'm grateful for the electric start! BTW I store it in my garage and only use propane. An electrician installed an outside plug connected to my home electrical box. I can drag everything outside and plug it in when needed.

Quite

I bought this for my fifth wheel and it is very quite. You can actually have a conversation while standing right next to it, Also, it has plenty of power and will run the whole fifth wheel, including the A/C and Microwave at the same time, with no problems

So Far, So Good

I purchased this dual fuel iGen4500 DFc generator a month ago and though I have not needed it for a power outage yet, that is primarily why I purchased it. I had help from a neighbor who is more experienced with generators than I to set it up and get it running. I then ran it myself for the 5 hour break in period that day as we were expecting a storm. I have given it 4 stars because it was a bit challenging to get the battery hooked up, due to the fiddly strap and positioning it properly. Also, it took a few tries to get it to start, and finally started it with the remote at a distance. The instructions said to vary the load during the break in period, and I used a hair dryer to accomplish that. I’m hopeful that I can give a more detailed review after using it for a time. I chose it because it has features that allow me, a senior female, to move it around easily, use different fuels, and use the digital readout to give me up to date info on fuel, load, running time etc.
