Exactly what I was looking for

Over the past year I’ve been looking for an inverter generator. Came to this Westinghouse 4500 dual fuel and am satisfied with the overall quality for the price. Very quiet, easy mobility, and overall perfect set up for my camper and storm situations down here in Louisiana

Love it!

Just took it out of the box and had it running on propane in less than 10 minutes. That was after about 20 minutes of reading the quick-start guide and manual. Definitely familiarize yourself with everything, but this baby is super simple. Pretty quiet too, especially in Eco mode.

Good size and quiet.

Picked this generator because reviews said it was quiet and had adequate power. I also needed the dual fuel option and a remote. I was disappointed to find the remote does not work. I am contacting the company tomorrow. Hoping this issue will be resolved.

Amazing Generator But flawed

Bought a pair of these to run in parallel, the features seemed amazing and it was exactly what I was looking for to power my RV. But one of the pair of generators kept overloading right out of the box while the other operated perfectly. I managed to isolate the issue to the motor of one of the pair and am now in the process of making a warranty cliam. Very disappointed to have to deal with this while my family is trying to enjoy camping. Now we are delayed while Westinghouse deals with this, lord only knows how long that will take.

Quiet, easy start, quality generator!

Remote start is a game changer! This generator is functional, quality, easy to use, and will hopefully be a reliable part of our RV adventures for years to come. The large gas tank and digital readout are great. Having the ability to switch between gas and propane is icing on the cake. Very excited!

Relatively quiet and quick response time

The unit was easy to set up and everything worked as designed. I ran load tests on the unit and found it to respond well to small air conditioner compressor load changes. I am using it to power certain appliance at my home during power outages in California. There has been no problem in powering up my electronically controlled appliances such as my smart refrigerator, computers, and big screen TV, room air conditioner etc. The unit is relatively quiet and I love the efficiency mode. It is a good size unit for essential backup power. Minor complaint is that is does not have a 240VAC connection and the 30A power outlet is a three wire system (120VAC). This makes it a bit unconventional when connecting to a power transfer switch cabinet. I also wish it came with a longer propane hose for connecting to a tall 125 gallon propane tank. The hose supplied is generally used with a 5 gallon propane tank. Also it is not to be left out in the rain, so I will need to build an open air cover for the unit.

Works no problem

Works likes it supposed to so far. After you get fuel through the lines it starts up first crank. The electric start and remote both work no problem. The plug for the built in battery charger is nice because I already forgot to shut off my battery and I killed it but I just plugged it into an outlet to get it charge. I have run it off both gas and propane with no issues. The noise level isn’t to bad for a generator this size. Running it on the grass or dirty vs concrete will reduce the noise a lot. The only cons the this generator so far are that the oil change is kind of a pain on this model. I recommend get an after market oil drain hose to put on. It’s heavy but so are all generators this size. No easy to get to manual fuel shut off valve. The manual say to turn on the manual choke and fuel valve but this model doesn’t not have those because it is all automatic. The muffler sits a little low so you might kill some grass if you don’t cover the grass with something like a piece of wood. Overall a very easy to operate dual fuel generator. I hooked it up to my small camper trailer and was able to run my small AC unit, the 12 volt refrigerator, and the microwave all the the same time with power to spare.

So far so good

I bought this generator a little over a month ago and have had zero issues with it so far. It was super nice and it came with all the attachments needed to runoff of propane out of the box. It was also nice that it came with the oil and the funnel to put the oil in as well. It also came with a handful of tools and the remote already ready to roll right out of the box. I have only owned it for a month so I can’t give much information on durability or lifespan but so far it seems like a solid built product.

Perfect for RV travel trailer.

Our travel trailer included a solar package with inverter, but there are times that the solar can't keep up with demand (and it won't run the A/C). So we purchased the iGen4500DF since we want to run on propane, it's one of the quietest generators available, and it has enough power to run the A/C when needed. Perfect traveling companion!

Dual Fuel is a perk

We had been using a smaller Honda gasoline generator and decided we wanted an inverter generator with propane. We dry camp a bit and carry gasoline for our ATV, but we plan to travel with only the camper and being able to just bring propane (which will be used for the camper also) is a big bonus. So far, we just picked it up and ran it a little to make sure everything worked OK. Our residence is at 5200 ft. elevation, we camp around 8,000 to 10,000 ft. It appears we'll need 2 or 3 jet orifices for altitude adjustment, so that will not be as convenient as other generators we've owned (Onan 5500 had just a slide adjustment for altitude). While securing the small starter battery, we thought the strap had broken. On looking closer, the metal clip is split and allowed part of the rubber strap to slide off. Easy fix and hopefully it stays in place.
