Very quiet on propane!

Generator arrived well packed in good condition. We were able to easily follow the setup guide for adding oil, connecting up the battery leads, connecting the propane hose and using the remote start. Unit started immediately and ran for about half an hour. The unit is remarkably quiet on propane. We could easily carry on a normal conversation right next to the running generator. The eco button slows the unit so it is even quieter when the unit idles between cycling loads like a refrigerator or freezer. The handle at the bottom of the generator gives great leverage; the unit is easy to move. Be aware! it is very heavy - don't try to lift it. Challenges will be whether the reported issues (choke not setting automatically, spark plug failure) crop up down the road. Otherwise we would have started at 5 stars.

good features

I am disappointed to learn after purchase that according to the manual, this unit is very sensitive to wet weather conditions. That's when we will need it, when the weather is stormy enough to knock the power out! The oil fill is inconvenient/changing the oil will be a hassle. Both of these issues can be overcome but . . .

Great little generator- Super Quiet!

This generator is great and purrs like a kitten right out of the box. I use mainly propane and this one is super simple to get up and running on LPG. I had issues with comparable generators from other brands on LPG but so far, not a single hiccup with this one. Runs everything i need it to run ... Extremely happy with this one!

Great Unit

We purchased two inverters so we could lpower our 5th wheel. Both fired up right away and ran very quietly. We did overfill the oil reservoir on the first unit, since it did not take .6 quarts. We also purchased the combiningunit which has color coded leads which the iGen4500DF does not. Two minor issues, and we look forward to many col or warm (heater or AC) days out in the wilds.

So far so good

After 3 PGE-mandated power outages in 6 weeks, I bought the generator for my home. It is more than enough power to keep the TV, fridge, a couple of lights, microwave, coffee pot, internet, etc., going during the day. It is quiet relative to other generators I hear in my neighborhood, and I liked the idea of propane as it is easy to access and requires less maintenance than gas. It was easy to set up. The LED readout does not seem to be tracking running hours -- displays "F00" which does not correlate to the manual.

Quiet and powerful

Generator is much quieter than expected. It has plenty of power to supply everything I want for my camper. It is a little heavier than expected but the extendable carry handle makes it easy to move around once it’s on the ground. I really like the remote operation and the dual fuel capability, that is specifically why I purchased this one over other brands.

lots of nice features.

Thought it would be great for my rv application with one exception. The remote start when using propane requires the fuel to be turned off at the tank when the generator is not in use. This requires you to go to the generator when ever it is started or stopped.

Excellent value, Great performance

I purchased the iGen4500DF to power our camper when remote camping. It has enough power to run all our appliances and do it quietly. After months of researching generators, I chose this for it output and features, which are pufect for our size camper. I am very impressed with this generator and would recommend it to all.

Super quiet, easy setup!

Just picked up this unit from the hardware store and I'm really surprised how quiet the unit is sitting in the back yard! I tried both the gas and propane at full power (no load) and this generator is quieter than my outside A/C unit. The pull out handle at the bottom is very sturdy. Don't add the whole bottle of oil at first; start with half! Exited to use this for my camper at the deer lease.

Still early but impressed

Just recently bought my 4500DF. I've run it through a break-in process and so far I'm very impressed. I expected to have quite a bit of junk in the first couple of oil changes but surprisingly everything came out reasonable clean. The generator is very quite and I'm anticipating many years of good service from it.
