So far so good

Bought this generator for powering our 5th wheel while boondocking. Have been camping in the Western Sierras for the past week with one more to go. Temps are averaging 100 to 106. Have run this generator on propane only for 8-10 hours a day powering one and sometimes two 15k AC's (both have EZ Starts) with no problems. Love this generator for it's features, ease of operation and power. Hope it lasts forever!

An Excellent choice

I bought this for my food trailer because traditional generators give me a headache, they are way too loud. This is the quietest that I have ran across, I really love it, so much so we are selling our large, loud generator to purchase another to chain together for our house needs.

The I GEN 4500 DF

I ran it on propane so far and it has ran great. Remote start is awesome as well. I haven’t tried gas yet but I will soon. The only issue I see so far, and it might be my problem not understanding how it’s supposed to work, but the display just stays in P mode and doesn’t cycle through to show me the other statuses. If I can’t get it to work I’m sure tech-support will work with me so far I’m very happy with the unit.

Works great!

I bought this generator because of its dual fuel capability. It was delivered on time and generator has no damage. I hooked up a 20 pound propane take to the unit and hit the start button. It started right up. It runs my camper A/C unit and 2 500 watt flood lights. The gauge on the generator states it is only running at 50% of its capacity. Very happy so far.

Good Value

I waited to right the review until I have been able to try it out. While I haven’t been camping, I believe lack of use isn’t good, so I do monthly run everything in my RV. Over the last three month I have used the generator to operate and warm up my RV. I bought it for all of it’s features. Here is a list of things that I think would be helpful for those thinking about buying one. - Directions were easy to follow. - It is simple to change from gas to propane. - Instructions say start without a load, but it has a remote start. Still confused about this. - When cold I have had to push the start twice for it to start, but it starts with no problem with the electric start. - I tried to start it with the pull start. Only tried it a couple times and it didn’t start. I think it would work but not a one or two pull cold start. I think this would tie back to how lone it takes the electric start to work. - The box it came in wasn’t sturdy. There wasn’t any damage to the unit but the box was not reusable. I believe these boxes were designed for transport by pallet not single shipment, something they should look at redesigning. - It is about 100lbs something to consider. - If you leave gas in it run it once a month for a least ½ hour. - It was able to run my AC and microware at the same time. - For RV’ers I have discovered that the “hot” water heater uses a lot of power, might consider using it propane mode While it’s the first generator I have owned, it has met all my expectations and would purchase it again.

Light weight and super powerful, great features !

I liked my brothers Westinghouse 4500 he uses for his B-Class RV so much I purchased one for my 5TH Wheel RV. One note of interest we used his to run what we needed at our lakeside RV site for both his Class B and a 29' Travel Trailer piggy backed for an overnighter. The 4500 did an incrediblly awesome job.

Easy to start and run!

I bought this last month. I have never owned or ran a generator before. Did a test run with propane. The instructions for setup and running are easy to follow. Propane attaches quickly. Oil is easy to add without spilling. Started right up with push button start. Plugged in fridge/freezer, hair dryer, fan and charged phone and tablet just to see how did. No problems and I'm feeling better about future power outages.

First 5 Hours... All good

So far so good! I had spent a lot of time researching this purchase. I knew about some of the service bulletins and expected some initial hiccups but as it turns out, I've been able to run the first 5 hours of burn in with no start/run issues. I have run into one more complicated finding that I will be reaching out about, that is the lack of detectable ground by a tester after properly grounding via 8ft copper rod. I understand that there is some complication with floating neutral wiring as in this and many other generators, however the manual leaves the research up to you. One additional thing to be aware of, the fuel meter only registers with gas not propane, completely understandable I just had my hopes up there!

Better than the Champion it replaces

Just received a couple days ago. Delivery via FedEx Ground was a bit clunky as it was four straight days that the FedEx website stated delivery was coming. Once I got the generator and set it up and put it through a trial run, I am glad to have made this purchase. Though slightly heavier the extra power and quieter operation is worth the upgrade from the Champion 3500w inverter we use to take on camping trips.

Great Features for the Price

Purchased this for our travel trailer when boondocking, and as a home backup inverter generator. It is quite for its size, it's RV ready with a 30-amp TT-30R outlet, gives me the option to run on gas or propane, and the remote start function is great. I really like that it comes prewired with a trickle charger to keep the battery topped off during off usage periods. The included tool set is enough for minor maintenance such as oil and spark plug changes. The three features that sold me most was one, it will run on propane so that I don’t have to hauling around gas cans while boondocking. Two, the rated watts on propane are, 3,330 Running and 4,050 Peak, which is more than plenty to run our Coleman Mach 3 13,500 btu AC (3,500 startup watts, 1,075 running watts), with plenty of power left over for other electrical needs. Third, the remote start feature. Let’s face it, the older you get, the less you want to head out into the cold or rain to start a generator. Others have complained about the 30 amp outlet being installed upside down, and the electric choke control wire not being connected, but I had neither of these issues. Hopefully Westinghouse has listened to their customers and fixed both assembly issues. The only thing I might change is that it ships with a 33-inch propane hose and I feel that a 48-64 inch hose would have been better, as it would provide more options for propane tank placement. All in all, I would recommend this unit
