I was looking for an inverter for cleaner power. I wanted dual fuel. I didn't need high wattage because I won't power the whole house in an emergency and I wanted to conserve fuel. I appreciate that it's quieter than competing models. Nice and portable, easy to move around. Remote start is a plus. Highly recommend, and my friend is going to buy one too!

Arrived quickly and was packed very well. Easy to set up and got it running within 10 minutes of unboxing. Appreciate that Westinghouse provided all the required tools to set up and run in the package. Ran for about 15 minutes on propane, started up quickly and ran great. So far I'm more than impressed. Looking forward to getting it out this spring and using it with my camper. Gave it 4 of 5 stars only because I don't have any long term use data as of yet but am confident it will work fine.

I’ve long had a VERY NOISY generator to use as home back up. So noisy that immediately after power is restored if I don’t turn the generator off immediately i get banged with a list of text requests to Please turn it off from neighbors. The unit arrived on time , no damage. Very easy set up and VERY quite comparatively. Starts very easy and I love the built in battery tender.

Very thoughtful design. Control panel very straight forward and digital display is very convenient. My unit started right up with propane and quieter than I even had anticipated. It’s not easy to lift with a dry weight over 100 pounds. Wheels are solid but a softer material than the typical hard plastics which makes rolling around smooth and quiet. The extension arm makes rolling around on the two wheels convenient but I wish it had a third swivel wheel for even easier movement. The build feels solid but we will see in time, if there are any long term issues.

I live in a condo complex where noise is an issue as well as storing fuel (gasoline). Upon searching for an emergency generator I needed one that was quiet and had enough power to run my food freezer/refrigerator and possibly my forced air natural gas furnace. The iGen 4500 Westinghouse Dual Fuel Inverter Generator was exactly what I needed. It has enough power and more for my situation and used propane that is safer to store. Our condo board had no issues approving the unit for temporary power outages. Upon receiving the generator, the set up was very simple.......add oil, connect the battery and propane tank and hit the start button. The unit fired up immediately. Directions/instruction book were well written. I took time to watch some you tube videos also. Other than the weight is a bit more than I expected, the very nice extension handle makes the unit easy to move. So far this appears to be a quality product.

I bought the same model generator six month ago. It was recalled. I returned it per the instructions. A replacement was received within one week! Great service. I like everything about this generator. It does everything it is advertised to do and MORE!! Suggestion for the next version: An oil change is required after the break-in. This should be an easy process but it is a giant PAIN!! The problem is that the oil drain plug is very hard to remove but not impossible. Here is the problem, once that drain plug is removed, it is very, very difficult to thread it back into the drain hole. One cannot get a straight angle on the drain plug to line it up with the threads in the drain hole. It will slip out of your hand and get lost down in the outside (blue) casing. A SIMPLE FIX: The casing access panel should be enlarged so one can get a straight angle on the drain plug to thread it back into the drain hole. PROOF OF THIS PROBLEM: Get the design team to have five engineers remove and replace the drain plug in its present configuration. Better still, use five "administrative" employees to perform this test. It will become evident that a redesign of the access panel is necessary and a simple solution!!

We love the power we get from the generator and the extra features it comes with. It has remote start, which is amazing for our trailer renters who don't want to go out in the cold to start it up at night. it also has a large fuel tank and will last for hours on a reasonable load. We also love the dual fuel feature because it gives our renters flexibility.

Generally I think 5 star reviews are worthless, go to the 1 stars to get the dirt. That said we got this for the quiet factor, and it is relatively speaking. It is far quieter than my larger open frame. When we lose power and want the ac I went to the room where we would run a window shaker, the ac drowned out the generator could not hear it run. Set up was easy, ran it on propane. Pushed the start button, it ran for a second or so, nothing. Pushed start again, fired right up. Learned that the generator needed to be off the eco mode for the ac (8000 BTU) to work. Would love to update after a full test but if we'd have to wait for another hurricane, no thanks.

I purchased this generator to provide an emergency backup power source for my home. I have got it all set up and have run it for a break in period and tested it, and it works exactly as advertised! I believe the high power output, CO safety shutoff, and dual fuel source option make it a safe and versatile generator. Parts are hard to source, as Westinghouse either does not have them in stock or does not have them listed on their website at all, but otherwise I'm very happy with this generator and have peace of mind knowing it will keep my family and me powered through an emergency!

We had a very specific list of "must haves" for our new generator. We already have one for our home. This one is for our new travel trailer. It it our intention to do more dry camping, so a good genny is the place to start. Back to my list: - We definitely wanted a dual-fuel generator. We do so much with LPG in the RV, it just made sense that a propane-fired generator would work well with our set up. - We needed a smaller, more manageable size for a not-so-young-anymore couple. I was hoping for less than 100 lbs. Since we're going to have to haul that thing around, the open-frame type was out of the question. This one comes in at a close 98 lbs. But it has that great luggage-style, pull-out handle! On a flat surface, it only takes ONE of us to move it around! - For the same reason, we needed more than just the recoil-start option. I am so done with pull-starting everything. With the push-button start, as well as a remote, this certainly fit the bill. (Although, if one must shut off the battery and close the propane valve, I suppose the remote control option is only good for the gas-powered starts?) - Must provide "clean" power - we've got sensitive electronics in that RV. - Speaking of that, the 30 amp RV receptacle was definitely on our list. Who wants to be fussing with adaptors and additional cords? - Our rooftop A/C unit takes the most power of everything in the RV. The generator needed to have at least enough power to fire that baby up when it gets too hot outside. This one has MORE than enough power for that.... even at the initial start-up! The Eco-mode is a nice feature, as well, for keeping the normal power draw to a minimum. This leads me to... - Last, but certainly not the least important box to check, the generator needed to be as quiet as we could get, while still checking off all of the above boxes. I gotta tell you, we just got this genny yesterday, and we've only started it twice. But, HOLY QUIET, BATMAN!!! My neighbor was blowing his leaves and when we stood in the street, our new generator was literally unheard over his blower. Really. Oh, and it started on the first push (NOT pull!) after installing the battery, adding oil, and hooking up the LP tank. All of our boxes were checked off with our new iGen4500DF, so I checked off all the stars. I don't anticipate any problems in the future. But if they happen, I'll update. Happy camping!
