Perfect for my needs

Kept my refrigerator, freezer, and other needed appliances going for three days during power outage at my house. Will also use for camping as it is more quiet than any other I have heard. Powerful enough to keep entire camper going including A/C. Very easy start.

Impressive Power

My purchase of the Westinghouse igen 4500DFc on July 4, 2022 was a good decision. Something, aside from the fact Westinghouse invented and perfected ac electricity generation, felt right when i viewed this model. The brand adds authenticity to this timeless masterpiece of consumer level portable generators. The panel with the green lights and the "data center" had me intrigued. Could it possibly function as advertised? Yes, it does. All the features i studied, zoomed in at, compared, were seemingly pie-in-the-sky offerings until i got the generator and see that they do all function excellently. I won't ALL CAPS or bold my customer review words to add emphasis but believe me this igen 4500dfc rocks! My first- out of the box- run lasted over 24 hours in "eco-mode" with a varying load @ .5 - 1 Kw. The unboxing itself was a nice experience with only a single issue of an underside mount nut which appears to have turned loose and wss at the bottom of the Styrofoam packaging. A good twist to all 4 -1/2" SAE mount nuts and it was good to go. Set up went smoothly. The sound is very quiet. The exhaust surprisingly hot. But low to the ground. And the igen 4500 has a CO2 sensor and shut-off capability which is another benefit to a fully loaded package. I mean i cannot think of another feature i could want. Except for maybe temperature or some fancy of my obsessive compulsion need to have information and instrumentation to measure critical data. This genny does most of it already. It tells run time left to no fuel, and accurately adjusts for load variation. It displays Kw output power. It has 2 fuel level indicators and i still cant fogure out how Westinghouse engineers designed the fuel level sensor or float. There is no indication in the "exploded views" in the accompanying user manual. The User Manual is even impressive. It exudes a level of concern for the users in terms of explaining every detail, every procedure (even for preparing the enclosed key fob to 'pair' with your igen). The manual is thick and contains a seemingly comprehensive parts list with their schematic and mechanical drawings. Step by step set up guides you to start up. You will need to be slightly dexterous with at least basic level of mechanical skill to get the oil in and to hook up and correctly install the battery for electric start. I hope i got mine right, its tricky and could use a redesign. On my setup battery install and oil fill took about equal time, too much time in my opinion at roughly 10-15 mins each task. And i made the mistake of overfilling the oil strait out due to the accompanying screw in funnel that you get which is good but... you'll see for yourself. Oil cleanup inside the generators frame can be tricky too so clean up for my tiny overflow took 2 sheets of paper towel and my cell phone on flashlight to see inside the "oil door" to wipe around all the extrusions and surfaces in there below and around the oil dipstick area. The oil door looks good with a layer of soundproofing material, foam egg carton, attached by adhesive. Lets see if this has longevity but now, i am nitpicking really. The oil door could be a bit larger for my liking, it is a lot of work to do in there for larger sized hands to be asked of, a lot of twisting and turning followed by wiping up in all over. I sensed to use care and caution so that i would not wind up getting rubs from the hatch edges of the oil door as the edge is plastic and formed to fit an edge rather than say a rolled extrusion softened for the more tender folk suck as myself. Otherwise be prepared to spend 30-40 mins setting up. Put of the box look is great with an accompanying smaller cardboard box containing a jug of oil (.6L), a battery tender charger plug and wire, a tool kit, a funnel, and maybe the user manual were in there too. The key fob comes hooked onto the manual pull start cord and the fob feels good in my hand made of a durable metal with a tiny carbuncle clip. On and off are the only two buttons on the fob. So in conclusion i say its probably the best generator out there today. I say i am impressed and i hope to remain impressed. They really have (whoever "they' are) convinced me that they care about producing a very good quality product and that with all their engineering they sincerely with for us to enjoy long lasting lifespan and happy healthy electrical generation for years to come.

So far so good!

Purchased this wGEN7500 as a backup for power outages at our home. Easy set up with a transfer switch. Started easily and runs smooth. Just tested with the switch and it easily ran our furnace, well, refrigerator and lights. The only downside is that the unit is loud, which was expected. Since it is for emergencies only, we’ll live with it.

wonderful

Purchase this inverter generator after researching several for our Airstream Classic. It arrived in excellent condition. After prepping as instructed, connected to propane and it started immediately. Very quiet. very well made. I am very happy with the generator and looking forward to many years of use on our camping trips.

Great RV Generator

This generator is very compact and starts like a dream. The remote comes in handy at night so you can stop generator without going outside. Just remember to turn power switch off in the morning or after using the generator for more than 12 hours. If the switch is left on it will drain the battery over a 12 hour period. The weight of the the generator is approx. 100lbs and may need the help of anoter person to lift. I haul this in the back of my pick up truck but bear in mind that the generator needs to breath otherwise the co2 monitor will shut the engine down. I like this generator and would highly recommend to anyone.

So quiet we had a normal conversation next to it

Arrived in good packaging and had the first fill of 10W30 oil included with the basic spark plug and maintenance tools too. Filled up the oil, and a little gas and it fired up the first try. This unit is so quiet I had to bring my wife out to listen and we had a conversation right next to this generator under a 500 watt load. The battery was even charged so I could use the remote start fob to start and stop. I did a lot of research and price modeling for three months and landed on this unit. It is by far the best value in my mind and in online reviews for value. It is 10db (3 x) quieter than the other popular competition. The digital readout is very useful and not on most other generators. The fuel and power load indicators are easy to read at a glance graph like colored indicators. I was able to extend the telescoping handle and with one hand move this generator around easily and the handle stores back out of the way. I am very happy with this generator and look forward to our next RV adventure off grid.

Impressive Overall

I used this for my RV and it worked right out of the box with both Propane and Gas. The sounds (DBs) seemed a little higher than advertised but still reasonable for a generator this size. I wish the propane connector was easier to use with an RV. Westinghouse should include a quick connect adapter or offer one as an accessory.

Great thus far!

I bought this as a replacement for a Honda EU2200i. I bought the Honda to run a camper and it wasn't quite large enough to run the AC and anything else. The 4500DF was easy to set up. There was too much oil in the provided oil container and so it overflowed a bit. Once inspected and filled with oil, I tested all of the functionality and everything seemed to work well. I ran it for about 5 hours under varying loads and it worked like a champ. The YouTube videos for the automatic choke issue were helpful to see where problems could exist. Fortunately, this 4500 seems to not have the issue. I had no problem with all lights on in the camper, the AC on, and the TV playing a movie from the DVD player. I didn't try the microwave at the same time yet. It ran very quiet. I was able to switch between fuels easily. I'd encourage folks to read the manual so you know what to expect. Remote works great. It would be nice to have larger and more all-terrain type wheels. A better funnel for oil would be nice, but they are super cheap. Curious how the oil changes will go to avoid making a huge mess. The Honda had an oil spout right on the fill tube that helped with oil changes and kept it clean and easy. A longer hose for the propane tank would be nice. From a quality control perspective, adding a tag in bright orange that says something like, "OIL NEEDED - DO NOT TRY TO START WITHOUT ADDING OIL" would be nice. Also a label for the propane valve that says, "This Side UP" would be nice. Understandably, these things are in the manual but it seems that reading is hard. I would definitely recommend this generator and am very happy with the purchase!

Quiet, nice features

Purchased this unit just a few weeks ago, but so far am quite happy with the product and its performance. Started right up from propane tank on second start cycle. I have not had any power outages where I had to use the generator, but I have test run several appliances and power tools to see how it performs. So far everything as expected. I appreciate the layout of the gauges and ports in front. The power percent usage gauge is a nice bonus and seemed to match with the wattage from the equipment and appliances that I was testing. I could see when it comes time to drain the oil it could be a bit messy, but am working on a way to mitigate that. So far overall very satisfied. Would give it a 4.5 star rating.

Good size inverter generator

I bought this to replace a much larger and heavier non inverter generator for my home. I will be using this with a transfer switch and exterior inlet to power my essentials during an outage. No more extension cords for me! I especially like the dual fuel and runtime of this unit. It seems very well made and is compact.
