LG QNED 65 inch

LG is my go to TV. The box arrived damaged. Screen side. I thought for sure I was going to have to send it back. As it turns out it was not damaged. Great picture and features. What I love about this TV and a previously purchased one, same size, is the remote, point and click. Do the research, LG for life.

50” LG QNED80 AI 4K Smart TV 2024

Was a difficult decision which TV manufacture to go for but was advised by an high street store that the 50 inch LG QNED80 AI 4K Smart TV 2024 was the best modern new model available. Have only had the set 3 days but very pleased with the picture quality and sound setup, although you need to take your time setting it up yourself.

Great visuals... terrible audio

Coming from a 2020 base model of a 43in LG to the QNED version was quite the step up over all. But with a horrendous downgrade too. I think the panel itself it great, vibrant colours and very bright. More menu options than you can shake a stick at, probably overwhelm if you don't like messing with settings. Though some settings are easier to find, like panel brightness. Having brightness settings on auto can lock you out of other settings so be mindful of that and Eco settings. It's slim, fairly light and the feet are solid too. The software suite is pretty comprehensive, but honestly, I think it either lacks storage, RAM or a little more CPU power, menus can be pretty sluggish and loading some apps can take its sweet time, It doesn't need much more, but having about double the typical storage needed helps when it's being accessed, the RAM would help when swapping apps and such and the CPU would just generally get everything a bit snappier. Less AI jargon, more usable performance. Then my BIGGEST gripe: Speaker quality. As I said I came from a base model 43 LG TV, and the speakers were actually remarkably good. Solid at all ranges and decent volume. Not tinny sounding or flat. This TV? The speakers are trash, They sound like a pair of phone speakers playing through a tin can. I do not see how in 4 years the quality of speakers has taken such a hit. Any TV I've had over the years has always had decent speakers, I do not get how a QNED... up 2 rungs from the base model, can have such bad audio and it be acceptable. Not everyone wants to have external speakers or soundbar set ups.

What a perfect Television

What a wonderful TV, my 5 year old samsung that started dying after a year getting slowly darker, I tried to change the LED's but it was basically impossible to do without destroying it. It was never anywhere as good as this LG, Sound and visuals are fantastic, the remote can be used like a laser pointer. makes it so much easier to put in all your details and of course change settings. The light and dark area's are crisp and distinct, watching 4K films is an absolute joy, I would recommend this to everyone, an awesome purchase :)

LG QNED is excellent!

A very good TV, with some quite cool features. I discovered that the screen-sharing function allowed me to view video files easily from my Mac over WiFi from a room in another part of my house. I had come across literal screen-sharing i.e. not sound on the shared screen device, but this was the whole shebang. The voice activated aspects are good too. My previous TV had also been an LG smart TV, and this builds on the interactivity/navigation features.

Big improvement on before

We decided to get this TV because we had an LG before just a lot smaller and so wanted to see if the picture quality would stay the same when the screen size got considerablly bigger. Well I can happily say that the picture quality is even better than we expected and is absolutely amazing to watch and lets face it this is the reason why we want to buy a good TV right! The pre-built in picture settings are excellent and being able to easily switch between them for different viewings is a great feature, the quality doesn't change when you go from standard TV to live sport or to a movie on the different settings and the details you can see are incredible. Going back to unboxing the TV the first thing I noticed was the TV seemed even thinner than I remembered from the shop but obviously due to the size of it you definitely need 2 peoiple to unbox it and get it into position. The actual setting up of the TV took a matter of minutes with the easy to follow process upon turning it on for the first time so even technophobes will be able to get this set up and running in no time. The sound quality is equally as good and as we do not have a sound bar this was an important feature, although with the quality of the TV it is making us think about getting an LG sound bar to go with it. Overall we are extrememly happy with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Good OLED 4K Smart TV

The Good: QNED 4K Smart TV with bright vivid colours & clear sound! The Bad: Live TV is not centre stage on TV turn on but relegated to bottom left corner! Too many useless bloatware apps! WebOs instead of full Android! The Ugly: Built in web browser is awful - Edge or Firefox or even Google would be better!

TV Review

I decided to get a new TV after having my 55” Samsung for 7 years and had some sound issues. I wanted to try the LG as I like the magic remote and wanted to check out something bigger. The sound is okay, I’ll likely get a sound bar. But I don’t have great hearing so that’s likely a personal issue. My biggest issue with this tv is how slow the system is. It lags on just about everything. Selecting an app, the app opening, your showing downloading. In a specific instance it took over a minute just for Max app to open. Compare to my Samsung tv you’d think the new one was older. Quality of the screen is okay. I’ll keep it since I already got rid of my old tv and don’t want the hassle of returning this one. 65” is very hard to handle by myself. But I wouldn’t purchase it again.

Laggy & slow WebOS is a let down

Love the TV but WebOS is frustratingly very slow and laggy. Previous TV had the older WebOS and was much nicer to use. This one now is so slow. You select something and nothing happens for upto approx 10 seconds while it’s ‘thinking’ in the background. Try frustrating to use. This is the only let down.

Disappointing purchase experience.

Not fully set up I think? Stupidly there is no manual , even in the box just a blurred “get it out of the box”. Not everyone has a smartphone and a printer LG. For the money we pay the least to you can provide is a printed manual. The onscreen instructions are assuming you have a degree in computing and understand the jargon. You got it badly wrong LG.

Thank you for your review. We take on board your feedback regarding the lack of a detailed hard copy manual, To be greener and leave less of a carbon footprint LG moved its literature to electronic copies rather than hard copies. You can still download full manuals in PDF and print as required however LG do not supply detailed lengthy manuals via hard copies as standard. We hope you understand and should you have any further questions or queries please do get in touch with our contact centre on 0344 847 5454 Regards Michael
