Customer reviews for LG 65" Class QNED 80 Series 4K Smart webOS TV forBig Upgrade - small downsides
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent Upgrade to my TV set up. Went frok an old HD 43” to this 4K whopper and Oh My! do you notice the difference. On HDR and 4K enabled content the colours really pop. As an avid gamer, the dynamic game mode to allow me quickly adjust settings based on the game type (FPS, Sports) is also a welcome addition. Unboxing is really easy as you remove the box from the TV rather than the Tv from the box so less risk of damaging the TV. Still requires 2 people to lift into place. Also the polystyrene packaging doubles as a temporary stand to allow you to fix the legs which I found to be very clever and useful. Set up is really straightforward but if you use a VPN on your mobile and want to set up with the app, make sure it’s turned off as it seems to affect this (I realised after 20mins of wondering why app set up wouldn’t work until I turned off and it worked instantly) The menus are sometimes a bit slow and lag (but I’m used to this having had such an old tv but could bother some people) and Disappointed that a TV of this size and a good spec is missing the PnP (Picture in Picture) mode that is reserved for its slightly more expensive brother. Sound is also on the light side with very little in the bass range (to be expected) so a soundbar to accompany would be a good investment also. Overall after a week of ownership - reviews are positive with a few minor downsides.
Big improvement on before
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided to get this TV because we had an LG before just a lot smaller and so wanted to see if the picture quality would stay the same when the screen size got considerablly bigger. Well I can happily say that the picture quality is even better than we expected and is absolutely amazing to watch and lets face it this is the reason why we want to buy a good TV right! The pre-built in picture settings are excellent and being able to easily switch between them for different viewings is a great feature, the quality doesn't change when you go from standard TV to live sport or to a movie on the different settings and the details you can see are incredible. Going back to unboxing the TV the first thing I noticed was the TV seemed even thinner than I remembered from the shop but obviously due to the size of it you definitely need 2 peoiple to unbox it and get it into position. The actual setting up of the TV took a matter of minutes with the easy to follow process upon turning it on for the first time so even technophobes will be able to get this set up and running in no time. The sound quality is equally as good and as we do not have a sound bar this was an important feature, although with the quality of the TV it is making us think about getting an LG sound bar to go with it. Overall we are extrememly happy with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone.
75 inch LG Television
Absolutely fabulous TV. The picture quality is literally out of this world, the colours and the crispness of the picture is like nothing I have experienced before. The sound is brilliant and there is no glare on the screen unlike other models I have had. Brilliant TV which is a must for any sports enthusiast as you can literally see the footballers faces. I would highly recommend this TV as the quality you get is worth every penny!
Great quality-to-price ratio. Very good choice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the TV for only a week, but it's great: excellent picture, many settings, and a comfortable, intuitive remote that also controls the decoder and soundbar. I'm satisfied. Great quality-to-price ratio. Very good choice. The picture is superb. The sound could be a bit better. I recommend the Magic Remote. For demanding users, it's worth considering a soundbar, but don't expect home theater sound quality. I definitely recommend it. For the best picture effect, manual parameter settings are required. So far, I'm pleasantly surprised with the purchase; it meets my requirements. I mainly use smart TV functions. Picture, sound, and app switching speed are 5/5. I hope it stays that way after longer use
Incredible!
We were really not impressed with our previous TV, we bought too cheaply and the picture quality was just shocking. Going from a 55 inch to 75 inch is a big change but gosh is it an experience. You feel as if you’re actually inside of the programs, the picture quality is just out of this world stunning. There are never any issues of the screen being too dark, or the colours not looking right, it’s clear and crisp and so worth the money. We’re really impressed and even friends and family who have come to take a look say it’s incredible. We look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.
Fab picture!
When this TV arrived, I realised I really had ordered an upgrade! We chose to wall mount it, and it now feels a little like we have our own mini cinema on the sofa. The first thing I noticed about the TV was how bright the colours were – and I’ve since found this was before I discovered the ‘vivid’ option. If you want super bright colours this is for you – but the TV also has multiple modes including a power saving mode to maximise the screen whilst minimising the energy usage (which seems pretty cool!). It also has the option to reduce blue light which I think is handy, along with some other settings such as filmmaker mode – which will set the TV as the filmmaker intended the film to be seen, if this is known – if not it sticks to your standard settings. The picture is definitely lovely and clear, no complaints there! I soon found the sound settings after noticing I didn’t need the volume as high on this TV as I did previously – again there are multiple modes, as well as options to connect various devices for your sound output – though we’ve stuck with the TV speaker. There is multiple modes – I’m sticking to either cinema for those films or AI Sound Pro to maximise all the sounds from the show/film. I find cinema helps boost voices without the background music becoming overpowering, which is a hugely handy setting. We’ve also got automatically adjustment on to stop the volume bouncing when switching between programmes which is fabulous (this normally drives me insane!). It was quick and easy to set up the TV and the apps – of which the main ones I use are readily available, and I already have the LG app from my washing machine, so it was easy to connect the TV up. (Love the option of turning the TV down when I’m in bed if someone bugs me – especially as I haven’t told the other half I can do that yet – mwahaha!) The big change between this and predecessors, aside from the extensive settings, is the operating system and remote control. The remote control has a scrolly ball, and when using the home page on the LG TV, you can physically move the remote to control the cursor before selecting what you want. (You don’t have to use this – you can just use the directional buttons on the remote). To start with, I wondered what on earth was going on – but I have to admit, this setting has grown on me, and I find myself wiggling the remote around to choose options more and more! Now, I am only my first week in, so watch this space!
Excellent TV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LG is onto a winner with this TV, first impressions, its very thin with almost invisible bezels, giving the illusion that the content is coming out through the wall. Secondly, the sound is crisp and loud at 20W without any external sound bars etc. With an external soundbar and back two speakers, the spatial sound extends and engulfs the room. I managed to connect it to my system and was able to get it running within 15 minutes. The initial setup automatically goes through all the critical configurations. I also included the voice assistant to help navigate the plethora of built in functionalities. With a display of fabulously bright colours and beautifully sharp images, the picture quality is truly a sight to behold. The downside may be that it shows up wrinkles on faces vividly, rather unflattering for some. on a 75 inch screen! As a family we love watching content together, and the fact that it adjusts automatically to the brightness and the light temperature in the room, I think is amazing. Overall this is a great TV, light at 33kg, easy to mount on the wall and to display great content. I recommend this to any OLED option in the market.
Really slow UI
This new for 2024 QNED80 model comes with webOS 24 which unfortunately seems to have a severe UI performance issue - bringing up the guide or settings results in a spinning cursor for quite a few seconds before it appears. Simply going up or down the menu with the remote control is also sluggish. I also have the previous 2023 QNED75 model with webOS 23 and that works perfectly fine so it seems there is a software issue with the latest webOS 24. Hopefully this can be fixed but at the moment I can only give 3 stars - picture quality and app compatilibilty is good but the TV is painful too use - in fact I would recommend looking at the 2023 model instead of this.

Amazing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So impressed with this tv. We upgraded and the quality is very noticeable. Even the sound is very good, previously we have used soundbars; but the TV has very good amplification. Very impressed and will recommend to my friends. Love the fact that there is an HdMI cable included in the box. The LG app is very easy to navigate and it’s great to use as a secondary remote. Easy to cast from my devices as well. It’s been great watching the EUROs on the TV, especially when paired with UHD subscriptions. Don’t see how it can get much better.
LG - 75QNED80T6A a pleasant upgrade, nice suprise
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG 75QNED80T6A is a well-rounded 4K Smart TV with excellent color accuracy, decent brightness, and good contrast ratio. Its α5 Gen7 4K AI processor and Quantum Dot NanoCell Color technology make it suitable for HDR content. With webOS 24 and voice control through LG Magic Remote, it’s also a convenient option for smart TV features. Overall, it’s a great choice for those looking for a large screen with impressive picture quality. This TV has 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution, with 59 ppi (pixels per inch) pixel density. It also has 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles These angles actually look great when viewing TV whenever I am sorting in the room. The LG sports Supports HDR10, HDR10 Pro, Dolby Vision, and HLG, which I assume will only add to my overall viewing experience. In terms of performance this is ruining an α5 Gen7 4K AI processor. It isn't the fastest by any means, which did really disappoint me if I'm honest, however, for my needs it's fine. I am a casual gamer, and, mainly use the TV for streaming services, and, for this it is fine. You can add apps of your choice for streaming services, which is really good. I must say, watching things in 4k is a very new thing for me. Having been used to 1080p the difference is really amazing! I'm still getting to grips with the webos system and, so far so good. Overall, it’s a great choice for those looking for a large screen with impressive picture quality.
