Ok, I LOVE to cook and have heard about this sauce that's supposed to be "God's gift to man".......Rao's! I got a 2 pack and today was THE DAY! So, my husband opened the jar, spoon at the ready and taste buds all fired up and I am giddy with joy and anticipation! SLOW MOTION HERE: Spoon enters jar, dopey grin on my face and I take my first taste of what I have been assured should be heaven on a spoon. (pause for reaction) Shock is the only word and I was so shocked I had to try it again......then I called hubby over and I was happy to say he had the same reaction I did.......as is: REALLY? What is so special about this? One word: BLAND, TASTELESS and WATERY. I had to add more Italian spice, onion and garlic and it helped........bottom line, I won't ever purchase again as there are cheaper and way better sauces out there. I was so glad to see other 1 star reviews because I know it's not just me. Overpriced Ragu......seriously. OVERPRICED.......very.

Yeah it's a great jarred sauce, arguably the best jarred sauce there is, but so is the sauce I canned from my garden. I've had Rao's and If I didn't have a garden I would buy this. If you don't have your own homemade sauce you really can't do better, Rao's is a good choice. In my opinion they're charging too much. It's too expensive, but then again, it is a premium sauce and there's enough sauce for two (or one big eater). It's around $4.50 a jar. Add a few extras like mushrooms or some meat and you're all set. Pasta is still $1 or less a pound. In todays economy that's eating cheap. Try it, you'll like it.

I have used this sauce for a very long time when I seen the owner of Raos in NY on a special cooking show, very popular restaurant, was so happy when I seen their sauce on the Italian store shelves,now at Sams, Grrrrrreat I,use it in my instant pot for all my pasta dishes< meatballs, I add a can of Goya tomato sauce,meatballs come out very tasty, Goya clings to the meatballs,Raos does the flavor,really tasty
