Out of the 12 or so Marinera sauces at the grocery store. This is the best one it does not in any way equate with mom’s but mom‘s required a lot of ingredients, chopping, and attention in general if hers was available in jars at the grocery store, all the other brands would go out of business within the month, but such is not the case. Rao’s Is the next best thing to mom‘s. Me, and two of my daughter-in-law’s all agree on this. Up in heaven, I know they’re eating very well. Down here we try to make a version of mom’s or just dump on a bottle of Rao’s.

We love this sauce. We always make our own tomato sauce. Jarred sauces tend to have "mystery" chunks of who knows what. Rao's is the only jarred sauce we buy. It is great for using with spaghetti squash or for dipping chicken fingers. We have even used it for pizza sauce. The flavor is amazing.

Finally, a sauce with a made-with-love flavor we can all agree on. We thought we had it good with our old sauce but no, Rao's found it's way into my cart. Our old go-to sauce vs. Rao's is undeniably different. There is no going back. The old sauce in my cupboard is going to the food drive.

Rao’s sauce has changed the way we eat pasta. The watered down tomato juice that the other brands serve is an insult to Italian cooking. Rao’s homemade keeps a group of Italian “Nonnas” held prisoner in their factory kitchen and makes them cook their sauce using the love and dedication grandmas of any culture are used to putting into their cooking. We only eat Rao’s marinara sauce in our house.
