[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted this to work for me, but I think the levels in it weren’t effective enough. I took this for three months, and I got a full-blown period each of those months. The first time I thought it was normal as I adjusted to it, but after three months, I was scared it wasn’t offering me the protection against pregnancy that I needed. I’m sure this works for some people, it just didn’t work for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Norgestrel contraceptive tablets are to be taken at the same time every day. This is extremely important. The tablets are taken orally. They are small and easy to swallow. Changes in period are likey, especially if this is a new brand to you. The main active ingredient is Norgestrel. This product does protect against pregnancy when used correctly. I was not impressed with the ingredients for these tablets. They contain yellow No. 5. I personally do not agree with consuming dyes, especially not on a daily basis. These came with a cute cloth zipper pouch and stainless steel drinking cup. All the accessories needed for the task! A huge plus is that the cup does not leak. There is a rubber seal where the straw goes.

The pill is easy to take and incorporate into my daily routine. In the first few weeks of taking it I experienced mild cramping for a few days. After my body settled with the medication, I didn’t experience any more symptoms. I have noticed that my cycle has extended a few days with shorter periods (4-5 days). I would recommend this for anyone looking for an over the counter product that is easy to get, take, and effective.

It is also sturdy which is inportant as the pills are so tiny. They are easy to pop out however. I didn’t notice any side effects, however this may be due to me already having been on another brand for years so my body is already adjusted. I would assume if anyone is taking them for the first time there will be side effects. I didn’t have any break through bleeding and my period was like clockwork. Overall, I really liked this brand and would consider taking them again.

Coincidentally enough, I received an incentivized package from Opill & Influenster! The box itself has fun cheery colors and it also came with a sticker to stick on your mirror (or wherever you choose) reminding you what time to take your pill each day. The pills come in a tin foil package that are small enough to fit in your wallet even!! Also, each pill pocket is labeled with the day of the week so help you keep track of the days you need to take them. Speaking of small, the pills are so tiny (great for swallowing) making it a bit difficult to handle; try not to let it escape your hands and have it fall in places you don’t want it to fall! I took them for about 2 1/2 months but then I stopped taking them because I felt as though I started having more breakouts. However, I did notice that my period was slightly lighter than normal. One of the best things about this pill, is it only contains Progesterone. This is great for me because I have endometriosis so it actually helps with some of the symptoms associated with it. I didn’t notice any additional side effects from taking Opill besides the breakout.. and even then, it’s summer time so maybe that’s why noticed an increase in breakouts. I may give it a try again in a few more months to see if I begin to breakout again. Overall, I would recommend this convenient method of birth control to most women. It’s a great option for women who don’t have insurance to see a doctor to get a prescription or for the busy mom who doesn’t have time for ANOTHER appointment.
