I only made it four days in before having to make the decision to quit. In my thirties, already had a kid, and never used oral BC before. First two days started with very mild nausea and headache that were gone by the third day. But with the third day came the ulcers/sores around my vagina. Fourth day got worse, and by the fifth day, the pain was unbearable even with painkillers. So I had to refuse the fifth pill and carry on with my life without this product due to the allergic reaction I was having.

When I was taking estrogen pills I suffered from migraines, terrible cramps and mood swings. With the progesterone only pill I do not have any of those. I do have the occasional migraine after my period. The only thing I had to get used to doing was taking the pill at the same time but that’s fine. I have set an alarm to remind me. I like that it is available over the counter in case I forget it while on a trip I can easily get my hands on it. Overall I have had a great experience with the Opill Birth control.

Now the whole reason I am on the pill is too lessen the intensity of my cramps and obviously pregnancy prevention. However, I noticed more cramps while on the Opill then I did my normal pill also my period was only showing up for like a day on Opill compared to my regular beginning three days. It could just be because my body has a lot going on health wise. To be honest I think birth control OTC no prescription is a great thing because it helps those who can’t get to the doctor for a prescription. Encouraged by this convenience, I decided to try birth control pills for three months. However, I had to stop taking them due to a myriad of unpleasant side effects. Firstly, my face broke out in severe acne, reminiscent of my teenage years. It was distressing to see my skin react so badly. More troubling than the acne, though, were the intense and painful cramps I experienced, the worst I’ve felt in years. The cramps were debilitating, accompanied by significant ovary pain. By the third week of using the pills, my ovaries were hurting intensely, and in the days leading up to my period, the cramping became excruciating. The bleeding was another major issue. I experienced heavy, almost torrential bleeding, which made my periods unbearable. Alongside the physical discomfort, I also dealt with severe mood swings, which added an emotional burden to the physical pain. The combination of these symptoms was overwhelming. Even after my period ended, the ovary pain persisted, especially during the third week. This constant discomfort was unfamiliar to me, as I hadn’t taken birth control for over seven years and never experienced such severe side effects before. It was clear that these symptoms were directly linked to the birth control pills. I was just recently made aware that this product does not work on someone like myself who has had bariatric surgery. Because due to the new size of my stomach, the pill doesn't have time to absorb. Just take one pill around the same time everyday. It is a tiny pill which contains only synthetic progesterone, no estrogen.
