As far as whitening I am not sure it does much however my husband loves the taste and we both have been using it for years. I am a coffee drinker and I think it does help my teeth from getting stained quickly.

I think this product compares to your standard brands of toothpaste. I have not noticed a significant difference in the whitening aspect but it does leave your mouth feeling fresh! I would recommend this product.
