Excellent buy

Great TV at a great price. Delivery was seamless. Lost a star as it doesn't come with the correct screws to wall mount in the packaging.

A game changer for home entertainment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having recently renovated our downstairs, we were looking for a TV to give us the wow factor in our new lounge area and opted for the OLED65C44LA , and thank god we did! This tv delivers in every aspect. Setup was straightforward, the updates downloaded quickly and once we gave it a "test drive" with some high quality action scenes we knew we'd made the perfect choice. The picture quality is simply incredible, the colours so vivid, motion superb, and we were blown away. I can't really comment on the inbuilt speakers, as we used an LG soundbar instead (also superb!) , which I think a TV of this calibre warrants to make the complete package. This is a very solid investment for any home, and I know will keep us very happy for years to come for our movie nights together, or when we have friends around for the football too. Highly recommended

Lovely TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The TV is very light and slim. there is a very nice finish on the back though we won't see it as we have ours wall mounted. It is very easy to access all of the platforms that we subscribe to because the interface is very good. The picture quality is superb with lovely bright and colourful images. There are many picture presets and we tend to use FILMMAKER mode for everything and Cinema home for HDR. The Dolby Vision FILMMAKER mode is a nice touch but I am unsure if I prefer it or Cinema. It is great to have so many choices. the sound is also surprisingly good. We will wall mount a soundbar at some point but there is no rush as the sound is quite enjoyable. The remote control is the same model that we have used for a few years so it is nice to not have to learn a new remote. It has a nice shape and works very well. I am glad that LG haven't changed it. Back to the picture quality, it makes everything look very good. We don't usually watch anything that is not at least 1080P but on the occasions when we do, the picture is surprisingly good. The best pictures that we have seen are via our 4k Blu Ray player. The picture is absolutely stunning. HDR is very effective - much better than the internal apps but that is to be expected from 4K Blu Ray. Setup takes a long time but then most of that is spent filling in the Login details for all of our subscriptions. The basic TV set up is very straight forward and LG's instructions are very clear. The same picture settings as on previous years' TVs are a great starting point so that is what we always start with. This 65 inch set is superb and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The LG "C" OLED TV's just get better and better!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a number of LG OLED TV's over the years from the CX, C1,G2 etc and now the C4. Every iteration seems to have a bump up in quality and functionality, which you only realise you need when you get the opportunity to see it in person! This new C4 range has exquisite picture quality and i am currently using it without a soundbar and i have been pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. TV is sitting on its stand on a TV Media unit, unit is sturdy and looks simple but elegant. May look to wall mount in the future and looks easy enough. When you go to an OLED you quite quickly notice the quality of the picture, in particular the contrast from the deep blacks to the vibrant colours. This is even more evident with this latest generation of OLED's from LG. Highly recommend!

Fantastic sound and awesome viewing!

When I ordered this C Series I was sceptical if I should I buy another LG OLED tv, as how could they improve such a nice tv. However I did go ahead and buy this LG OLED C4 series and when it did arrive I wasn’t really impressed with the look of the packaging as it didn’t give me much excitement to look at a plain box, it could have been more colourful and printed but I guess to save the environment it came without any colours. After setting up the TV, I realised that the sound quality has improved so much, by this I mean the depth of sound and at low volume it just sounded so loud. Also the picture quality is very impressive too, it just looks crystal clear and there are different presets available for different viewings. The brightness is very good and impressive along with the HDR setting which sets it alight from other tv’s that I’ve used. The viewing angles from the sides is just as impressive as looking from the front as the colours don’t fade. The good thing about this tv is that it has 4 hdmi ports which are all 144 hertz and are good for gamers along with the dashboard that can be used while playing so I could change the settings to suit the game I am playing. The remote for this tv is similar to the previous model I had and it looks too plastic and cheap but it does have good functions as the pointer is helpful when I want to select things and it also has a scrawler along with one touch buttons to some regular apps that I use to watch films. This tv also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos and that makes a lot of difference when watching certain programs and playing games. However there are a few things that I’m not really impressed with that they could have changed from the previous model I had and that was the power cable which is set permanent and can’t be made long so it could be short from your socket and also the ports are all on one side of the tv as before they were split on the back and some on the left side to connect your devices. The rear design of the tv doesn’t feel premium as it has a cement type effect which is very rough and not smooth to touch at all. The remote could have been changed to make it feel more premium such as adding metal or titanium as it feels too plastic and cheap. Since using this tv there are too many updates and it just feels annoying to wait while the tv is updating but at least it feels like the updates will make the experience better so it’s worthwhile doing these frequently. Fantastic tv overall.

Upgraded to OLED, and so glad I did!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a big fan of LG televisions but was ready for an upgrade from my ageing LED - I opted for the OLED65C44LA, having never had an OLED television before, and am so glad I did! What a truly fantastic television! Although large, the television is light, thin and was therefore easy to wall mount (wall mount purchased separately, although it does come with a perfectly functional table stand). As it's so thin it sits nicely flush with the wall. Switching on, setup was easy with clear instructions, menus easily navigated with the magic remote. I opted for the AI enhanced settings after which you’re taken to the home screen – again easy to navigate, responsive, clear menus and with every app you could imagine! Login to each simple using the displayed QR code and a smartphone. Importantly though, when you do select what to watch the picture quality is simply amazing! Rich colours, deep blacks, and a level of detail visible that takes your breath away. Nature documentaries, TV shows, films, animations, sports, so far whatever I’ve watched the television performs fantastically well. Switch off the lights in the room and the clarity, crispness and brightness makes you think you’re in the cinema! Although we’ve not yet used, there are a number of ports for further connections, so will be no problem connecting the games console in due course. Special mention for the music app too – again, simple to link and automatically displays the lyrics, resulting in my youngest (and the rest of the family!) now regularly enjoying karaoke! Really pleased, the upgrade to OLED has not just met, but far exceeded my expectations!

LG TV OLED65C4

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a few days with the new LG C4 OLED and I am now ready to give my initial impressions. The last LG model I had was the C2 so I only have this to compare it to. If you like your TVs ultra thin then this might be the tv for you, using a tape measure this tv at its narrowest point is only 1/4 inch thick and at its widest about 1.8 inches, it just looks stunning. One thing I did notice when putting the Tv together is that the power cable is permanently attached this shouldn’t be a problem but it something to consider if you are wall mounting you TV as you will have to route the cable first. Round the back this time it has all the usual connections but now has 4 HDMI ports which all appear to be HDMI 2.1 this is great if you have more than one games console to connect. Where as before you had to swap the connectors out when using a PS% and XBOX to get the best picture out of them. The first thing you notice when you turn this tv on is the brightness, It so much lighter and visible in a bright room. If you have and sort of direct sunlight on the screen it doesnt really cause any problems. I believe this TV has over 1000 nits of brightness which is fantastic for this type of tv placement. Booting up the tv and the new Webos the new interface its very well organised and navigation friendly offering neatly organised tiles in a familiar but defiantly improved OS. The remote hasn’t changed much if at all but it’s still easy to use and well labelled up with the usual quick buttons to the popular apps. The picture when watching content from Netflix or Disney in Dolby Vision or HDR is as ever fantastic, the colours are rich and vibrant and just look fantastic on this TV. The only thing missing is HDR 10+ but I don’t think that will bother too many people. Another good thing is it doesn’t seem to matter where you sit in the room the picture remains perfect and the same the viewing angle is great. The sound has had a bit of an upgrade but as with most flat tv’s the sound is never great. LG has definitely put some work into the new tv as the sound is clear and has a decent enough bass but it’s not close to how good a separate soundbar sounds. The E-arc connection to the soundbar works perfectly without issue and goes through all the formats Dolby Atmos , DTS etc without any problems what so ever. If you did need to use the onboard speakers though the sound is ok and more than bearable believe me theres a lot worse out there. Overall this is a stunning TV with the best picture I’ve seen on an OLED and look forward to plonking myself on the couch in front of it.
