1995 networking technology!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Why on earth have you put a 100M/bit ethernet port on there?!? I can add a USB G/bit adapter to the USB 2 port (to run at only 300M/bit) but then I can't use wake-on-LAN. It saved you what? 30 pence per unit? Very dissappointing LG! Everything else about the TV is awesome though.

All good except

I have the LG Oled 55CX and that was my first Oled, nothing but praise gor the TV, the only thing that let it down was that we couldnt access My4 due to some sort of dispute. The new C4 is much brighter and sharper picture as well even in sd. The tv goes to filmmaker mode when a movie is detected and once you get used to this it is fantastic to watch. The only down side at the minute is that i am having a few issues with the remote, in that, it wont always do as it is asked, i have switched the tv off and disconnected everything a few times, works for a while and then starts to do, or not do what it wants

LG c4 48" OLED

Bought this OLED 48" |LG C$ based on reviews and am happy to confirm the reviews appear so far to be accurate. The Television look good, was relatively easy to assemble, may want to watch a You Tube 'how to' prior to unboxing and most importantly the picture is good. I have had TVs before that I bought all to quickly without reviewing based on price and have been disappointed with the picture, not so with this LG c4 48" OLED. The picture is sharp, crisp and the movement on screen clean without distortion that you often get with other makes/models. All in all, happy I paid the extra for the higher specification and would recommend to others looking for a 48" screen size TV.

Nice, but expensive, TV

As with any new TV it took a while and some care whilst working out the securing of the base and cable routing to the TV with a picture only instruction sheet, I'm sure there is a video online somewhere but it didn't occur to me to view it. Similarly, once plugged in, working through all the setup steps, inputting email address etc. took a while but the remote control operated cursor made this a bit easier. Looking back it was pretty intuitive and everything worked from the go. Anything I'd missed in setup such as Alexa setup and features such as AI picture pro and it's sound equivalent became apparent through subsequent screen prompts or through just browsing through the settings menu. Although not an LG issue I'm slightly disappointed in the shortage of UHD content available on channels. . Even The Euro 2024 football championships are only available in HDR on BBC i player, , Glastonbury and Tour de France 2024 similarly. It even appears that the Paris Olympics, although will be broadcast in 4K , is in a watered down version. Otherwise I'm left with the majority of my viewing being in normal but good quality resolution, albeit on a sophisticated and expensive TV

Not as good as everyone says.

After a few days of owning this and coming from a non smart tv previously which was Sony. I have found a few issues. 1. The tv guide can be laggy and slow to load. 2. Several channels are repeated, so I have channel 2 twice as well as channels 6 9 23 and a few others. On each repeated channel the first version has bad reception and the second is good. But when you switch to the second version it automatically turns straight back to channel 1 after a few seconds. 3. It's quite dark especially on movies. I find the blacks are too black and the whites are too bright white. 4. My previous workflow was to use apps on my tablet and cast to the tv. While in theory this is still possible, I find that the tv is often not found when trying to cast to it. 5. Which brings me to problem 5. Apps on tv is all well and good but so far I've not found a way to quickly find the app I want. There's no ‘my apps' or favourites. It just gives you hundreds of recommended apps to choose from, most not even installed. So I have to go on the hunt to find the ones I use every day each time. I will say it's my first smart tv and I'm still learning the settings. But I am a technology guy and I'm surprised by how complicated the menus are.

Love it so much

The LG OLED C46 is hands down the best TV I've ever owned. The OLED display offers rich, vibrant colors and the deepest blacks, making everything from action movies to nature documentaries look stunningly realistic. The TV's ultra-slim design is sleek and stylish, and it fits perfectly on my wall. I'm also impressed with the sound quality and the smart features, which are fast and easy to navigate. Gaming is a smooth, immersive experience with no lag at all. If you're on the fence about getting this TV, just do it—you won't regret it!

Great picture once you get the settings right.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Definitely the best TV I've ever had, with brilliant colour and contrast. Two words of caution to potential buyers though. 1. It's a devil to get out of the box and set up safely. When the delivery men dropped it off they took a photo of the screen to verify it had arrived in one piece. I had to set it up on my own and was terrified of breaking it - it was very tricky to remove from the box and set up without putting pressure on the screen at any point. Good to have careful help here. 2. As is quite common, the various motion smoothing and image enhancement settings were all turned on by default, and colour and contrast were far too high. My first viewing of a standard definition channel was so bad I nearly sent the TV back. Highly compressed, low resolution digital channel look pretty poor on any 55 inch TV and these settings are there with the intention of mitigating that but just like on any othe TV all they do is make it worse, and the settings on this TV, that some poor techies have no doubt laboured over to make a selling point out of, look so bad it's beyond belief. A war film I chanced on looked like a badly drawn cartoon seen though a bathroom window. Turn them all off and your standard def channels will look no worse than any other TV. If you're watching anything in HD or 4K, though, this is great. Set the black level so it's as dark at it will go without losing any detail in the shadows, turn off the motion smoothing and so-called clarity settings, and this is just about as good as it gets. Remember to do this for all inputs because if you set it up for live TV those settings won't be carried over to your Netflix or blu-ray player, you have to set those up too, so it could take a while to get everything how you want it, but that's par for the course. My only other minor quibble is that with some old DVDs it wont recognise that they should display in 4x3, and where some TVs have a remote that can fix this with one button, you have to hunt through the picture settings to correct this. The on-screen cursor on the remote can be a bit skittish and alight on things you don't want to activate, but it's easily turned off and useful for typing in names when you're searching for something. Finally, it's a very smart looking set. Overall, very happy indeed.

Great but with reservations over Smart TV function

Great picture quality. Good Sound.LG sound assistant fails to understand simple commands and often ends up blanking the screen when trying to start an app. YouTube app constantly buffers when all other streaming services work fine on a fast internet connection. Remote lightweight and not comfortable in my hand. Menus akward to navigate. Making picture adjustments when 4k is running is slow and unresponsive in parts.

Recommended by WHICH magazine

This model was recommended by WHICH which helped me choose it. I needed a tv with a bigger screen and this replaced my 16 year old 32" Panasonic, and what a difference. It has a beautiful detailed picture with great sound, and lots of free streaming channels. Setting it up took a while though with lots of setting options I wasn't familiar with, but I got there in the end.
