You push the back button and it turns to the side a little which then punctures the back of the scent thing. I have placed it in a room, where I keep the door shut all day long, and I do not smell this product. I would think being in an enclosed room the scent would stay in that room but I don't even smell anything.

We put it right behind our garbage can under our kitchen sink and it does an amazing job of keeping it smelling nice and fresh! The lavender is the perfect amount. Not to strong, but absolutely enough to notice it!

Felt bad throwing away the plastic covering, which was very well made by the way; seemed like a waste. Anyways the scent itself went strong for about a good week and a half in my room, was very pleasant smell. I'd be open to buying more if they were refillable, other than that good buy.

Many air fresheners have an artificial scent but this smells natural. It is just enough to keep the room smelling good without overpowering or smelling like an old lady’s house.
