This product has changed and is not the same as it used to be. It doesn’t say on the packaging, but it seems to have fillers. It’s changed to bright orange and less potency.

Read the ingredients- RED PEPPER which can be a combination of lots of peppers. So if you want Cayenne true Cayenne buy elsewhere. I use cayenne to deter squirrels which works with the right product. This is NOT it.

This stuff is good, it's very hot if you use too much. The Shaker holes are too small so they get clogged, so you tried to give it a shake and a squeeze and boom 10 lb of this winds up on your food. And next thing you know you're butts on fire for a week...

I am using this product as an environmentally safe squirrel repellent in my yard; squirrels were digging up my plantings and eating all the seed in the bird feeders! Cayenne works pretty well except has to be reapplied after each rainfall. Doesn't bother the birds at all, just the type of animals that sniff and dig... "probably" would work for keeping skunks and neighborhood cats away from your plants at night also, but I can't attest to that because I'm sleeping. During the day, I don't see the squirrels in my planters and bird feeders NEARLY as often when I have freshly applied cayenne on the soil around the plant.

A lot more Cayenne Pepper than i needed but for the price, it was great.
