Light emphases more on pattern than actual pathway illumination. The brightness would be fine if the globes were for pathway light instead of pattern atmosphere. Light pattern is more for atmosphere than putting useful light on the pathway. The crisscross diamond pattern put on the ground from lights next to or across from each other can actually make you dizzy if looking down to see where you are going. Lights appear to be made well of good materials. Aluminum,plastic and glass. The globes are glass so they should not fog with age. So if you want them for atmosphere as pictured they will be fine if the pattern doesn't make you stomach uneasy while walking by. They do not illuminate the ground well as shown in the item article or the box. The globes are designed more for atmosphere but not illumination purposes. I would not recommend these lights to be put near a pool or other recreational or party area.
