Been using extra fresh for YEARS and accidentally bought this new formula about a month ago. Tossed it (didn't know it was a new formula at the time, thought it was just a bad batch?) but it was so bad, wore off within hours and I smelled awful. Bought it again and it must have been the old formula cause I had no further issues and all was well....until I ran out. Ended up with the new junk again and same thing. So it looks like I'll be switching brands. Bummer. I used to love this stuff and now it's back to the drawing board. Goodbye Dove :(

Why ruin such a great product! Seriously! I have been using for years. I just seemed to have the right balance of protection without being over scented. The scent has now changed and (with the same name). It now smells like a coconut lotion...and not masculine at all. I CANNOT continue to use. Loved the old product and now it is gone. Also worth mentioning that the package quantity reduced by one at the same price. Are there any suggestions of products which may be similar to the old version?

I was a regular user of Dove 48 hour Extra Fresh antiperspirant for many years, and when they recently changed to the 72-hour citrus scent formula, I was incredibly disappointed. It smells like old lemons and celery, and the odor is much stronger than the old formula. I don't know what caused this change. I bought all of the 48-hour formula that I could find since I figure they'd be soon replaced by the new formula.

I have used Dove antiperspirant for well over 10 years. Loved it. Recently I purchased Dove for men antiperspirant with long-lasting citrus scent. If this is the only option still available the next time that I purchase antiperspirant, I will be trying another brand. The scent is distracting and disgusting. I am very disappointed in this product change. I am leaning toward throwing it away rather than using it.

The scent of the new 72 hr formula is unbearable. I've stopped purchasing it. Please bring back the previous 48 hr formula. Shouldn't the scent of the Extra Fresh deodorant match the scent of the Extra Fresh body wash? I'm not sure anyone needs 72 hours of protection anyways.

What did you do Dove?! The new citrus smell is terrible. Please bring back the original scent. Also, I'm not sure why it needed to last more than the original 48 hours, who is waiting 72 hours to shower or reapply? I'm in the process of having to find a new brand/scent for my boyfriend because you messed with a good thing.

I had been using this since last summer. It smelled great and kept me dry, but over time I noticed that it left crusty deposits in the pits of my clothing. I had never experienced anything like this, even on shirts I had owned for years. I'll miss the scent and I'll be watching for a new formulation, but until then I'm going to have to use something else.

The new smell of the 72h version of this is completely awful. I don't even know how you can call it citrus because it smells so overpoweringly like coconut and perfume. I've been using this product for over a decade and it had a nice scent that wasn't too much. This new version smells like you've bathed in a coconut air freshener and it just lingers - you can smell it so strong by the end of the day even if you're sitting and keeping your arms down. I don't at all understand why Dove would change the product scent so drastically and keep the same name. It's honestly such a garbage smell and I'm going to have to switch brands because of this. Considering how many people these days (and offices) are scent sensitive, I can't at all understand why Dove would make this change. I guess if you shove enough coconut air freshener smell in a product it'll overpower you so much it will hopefully last 72h? Please bring back the original 48h one.

If it ain't broke don't fix it! Adding Citrus scent to a extra fresh scent was the worst thing to do for this product! Smells like coconut now! And feels like coconut oil moist paste underneath my arms and it makes this product form a little bitty balls of deodorant underneath my arms that I can feel! Extra fresh scent should smell like clean linens not like a tropical scent! Tell me where I can find the old product before you destroyed this one with citrus!

I have been using this particular Dove soap and deodorant for over a decade. The new 72 hour scent is too much. It gives me a headache. I looked to try and find the old scent but couldn't do it and now I'm switching brands. I'm bummed out because Dove makes a great product. But they went to far with the 72 hour scent. It's so strong it smells like a pine tree you would hang in your car. Please bring back the old scent.
