I loved the regular Core Power shakes when I found them a few months ago. 26g of protein for 170 calories!? As a short woman trying to lose weight and always in search of ways to get more protein that actually taste good, I was in heaven! (Boba Tea Protein is another great choice, which I mix with half regular Fairlife milk and half water!)
But then! My lord, but then! I saw the ELITE versions of these drinks. 42g of protein. 230 calories!!??? I don't know what sort of forbidden magic they got working on behind the scenes at Fairlife, but I need them to keep it up, seriously. The only real problem with the Elite line of drinks specifically is that THEY AREN'T IN STOCK ANYWHERE! I am constantly scouring every retailer they say on the site that has it and everyone has the regular 26G version, but hardly any of the Elite. Of course, I'm part of the problem, because every time I see them in stock, I buy LITERALLY every single one I see because they're never around! It honestly makes me kind of bitter seeing all of these Influenster reviewers getting a 3 pack of all of the flavors. I would have bought all of those lol.
Okay, about the actual drink itself though. To be honest, I'm not really a chocolate kind of person -- the taste can often be too rich for me. And for many similar protein drinks the chocolate is often the worst flavor for me. On top of trying to be TOO chocolately, whatever flavoring always tastes so chalky and DRY (looking at you Muscle Milk), which seems impossible for a beverage, but I can't think of any other way to describe it.
The chocolate Core Power Elite, though? IT'S DELICIOUS. PERFECT. It's definitely chocolately, but not overwhelmingly so for me, the chocolate hater. It's also incredibly light while still being filling. It might as well be the regular Fairlife chocolate milk, with just a LITTLE less chocolate intensity and no regret over drinking half the container when you were only going to have a sip. When I first saw the Elites, I only got one chocolate, just because it's normally not my preferred flavor for this sort of thing. I wound up regretting it because of how much I LOVE the taste of this one (and also the stock issues T-T). If I was forced to choose at the risk of Elites being permanently out of stock in my area, I'd probably say it's my favorite of the three flavors!
Anyway, if you're in search of a delicious source of protein, just buy these already. Actually don't buy them and get the regular one instead -- I need more of the Elites in stock for myself!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sell these outright on your website soon, Fairlife! It's killing me that only the 26g is available right now to get from you directly!
