Well built but 20 lb bag of ice only lasted 2 days

Seems to be built tough. Heavy. However, mine didn't hold solid ice for a full day. Filled it with ice in the morning. It was in the back of my vehicle all day. Twelve hours later it was slush. It was never left open for an extended period of time. Opened, got drink and closed immediately after. Strange though. A family member's 55 quart held ice for 2 days. Apparently I got the lemon...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooler did not fail to impress! It's incredibly stout, sturdy and tough. Perfect for all of our outdoor adventures. We can pile stuff on top of it, use it as a bench or step stool, and there isn't the slightest give. Not to mention the seals and insulation on this thing are top notch – our frozen milk jugs were still completely solid after 2 days up in the mountains, and we even had most of the loose ice we put in as well. What little bit of water that had built up didn't leak at all when I accidentally tipped the cooler when trying to load it in the truck (this thing is hefty, use a friend!). Oh, and did you know it has bottle openers? How cool is that! We noticed them this trip, and can't wait make use of them in the future because who ever remembers to pack a bottle opener? We certainly don't, but now we don't have to worry about it.

I have been through several other brands around this price point and i truly believe that these coolers are worth at least twice what you pay for them. I have friends that have paid 2-3 times as much for a cooler that are in shock when mine is the only one with ice after a long weekend. This cooler holds ice extremely well, just as my other lifetimes do. The seal is much better than my older version 55. The latches are the best design out there in my opinion. In comparison to another much more expensive cooler, you can really feel these latches seal the cooler right rather than just hold it closed. The bottle opener is a nice touch, without taking up and unnecessary room. It worked on all of the bottles i tried. The cooler also feels very sturdy, without being overly heavy. I could stand on the cooler without feeling as if it was going to cave in, and I am 225 lbs. In my opinion, you aren't going to find a better cooler for this price point or anywhere close. This cooler performs just as good or better as the coolers costing hundreds more.

Bought this cooler on a whim to purchase some refrigerated goods to take home from a trip. Couldn’t believe after 2 hours nothing had melted just as frozen as when I purchased. I decided to leave the ice in it and three days later the there was still 75% frozen ice. Left it over night with the lid up and still had a tiny bit of ice the next day. I have no doubt this cooler can do what lifetime claims it can. It is large but it works. You won’t regret this purchase. Sam’s can you get some of these in smaller sizes?

I believe I have the first generation 55 guart Lifetime, 7-10 years old now. Both handles broke and Lifetime replaced them at no cost. Now I got the 65 quart. I can get 6 days of ice on a 20lp bag after pre-chilling. Im a fan for Life.

Cant wait to try, army grade stuff!!

It’s a nice cooler but it does not retain cubed ice in hot weather for over a day if outdoors (and not in direct sun light) We have to add cubed ice every day. If inside our home, cubed ice will last a day and a half.
