Yes, this box is large and seems sturdy but I'm so disappointed the lid isn't soft close. I purchased this for my grands outdoor toys. I'm concerned their hands could be injured when the lid closes quickly. The Lifetime deck box I have does have soft close hinges but I needed something larger. Should have done more research.

We own a house built in 1929, and while it doesn't have much in the way of closet space, the porch is amazing. Unfortunately, the porch also became a storage area for outdoor decorations and the gardening and car-washing stuff. Tubs were employed at either end to hold it all. I had the idea of deck boxes. I came across this one and got 2 in white. The 1st took a little longer to assemble than the 2nd, of course. Absolutely thrilled with this. All of my outdoor decorations fit in one and everything else (including a hamper for aluminum) fit in the other! My sister came over and saw them, and I ordered one for her yesterday. Sent info to my other sister. These are huge! I could imagine so many other uses...Kids toy box. Storage for seasonal clothes. A linen cabinet. Not just for outside, at least the white one.
