garmin watch

love the style, ease of use, and how it motivates me to move and be active. I use it to track my steps if walking dogs and for runs. only drawback is sometimes difficulty connecting to track runs. However I have had that problem with all watches I have used in past. This watch is simple to use and a great beginner watch. I would recommend for users of all levels however.

Great Running Watch

I've had the watch for about three weeks now and I am loving it. I was looking for a basic running watch and this is perfect for my needs. Having used smart watches in the past this lacks in features and screen quality but that wasn't what i was focused on. Great battery life, good bright display while running, customizable screen layouts and access to suggested runs and coaching plans. Good value for money.

Disapointed

I own several Garmin products. This one is a disappointment. I wanted something very basic and without all of the bells and whistles. I need something to sync to a chest strap heartrate monitor. Initially this worked well. I liked the somewhat large display which made for easy reading the heartrate metrics. I've had this for about 6 months and it no longer reads or syncs to the chest strap.

Good watch

4.5 stars. The GPS works well most of the time, and there have only been a few times that it has taken more than a minute to get GPS, and that was when I was moving and in an area with lots of trees. It has lots of different options for watch faces and you can choose which data it displays while you are running. It’s also cool that it has heart rate and when you finish a run you can look at all sorts of data like elevation profile and even overlay two graphs, like speed and elevation. It also has the PacePro which allows you to add a route and then make a plan for how fast you want to run each part of it. The battery lasts about 4-7 days, depending on how long you use GPS. Overall it’s a good watch that I would definitely recommend for both beginner and intermediate runners.

TOO MANY Functions on Each Button!

It’s too complicated. I had a tachycardia incident due to high stress. Figuring out how use the the watch to monitor my heart rate was adding to my stress, so I returned it. (My sister has one, and has no trouble with it, but even after she tried to help me with it, I couldn’t manage it.)

Solid basic watch

I was looking for a more basic watch that had the key things like heart rate, fitness tracking, etc. but not too many bells and whistles as I didn't want to break the bank. The watch suits me just fine for logging trail runs/climbs/workouts. There are definitely watches with more features on the market but this is a very good option if you're looking for the basics. I'd recommend it if you're looking for something on the "lower" end.

Always Losing Phone App Connection

I’ve had to delete my Forerunner 55 from my phone’s Connect app and resync once or twice a week. It loses sync with my iphone routinely. I’ve repeatedly followed all troubleshooting steps and the problem persists. Apple watch looking better and better.

Great upgrade

I was a fitbit user for eight years and every two-years it would die or something would go wrong with it. So I decided it was time to move on. I was getting ready to do my first 5k run and this watch really helped me reach my goal. It was a learning curve but it didn't take long to figure out. I really like the body battery feature. This watch has so much more than my fitbit as well. So glad I made the change!

Auto scroll

It is hard for me to understand why and how a watch with so many options, Auto Scroll is excluded? It makes absolutely no sense to me, other than forcing customers to buy more expansive watch. I returned it back, as a deep dissatisfaction with such a cheap business approach. I've been a loyal customer for many years. Too bad.

Has been super durable so far. I've smacked it on some rocks by mistake and the screen doesn't have any scratches yet. The GPS was a little off for the first few runs, but it seems to have self corrected. My longest outing with GPS on was 19 hours and the battery barely hung on. May want to opt for a higher end model if you expect to be out much longer.
