These floating mats are great. First, the smell... Yes they do have a strong smell to them upon unboxing. Nothing my wife or I couldn't handle; we used them straight out of the box. After the first use, we left them outside in the sun for two days and have since brought them inside. We don't notice any smell. Now to the mats. The are a little bulky to carry, but once they are at the water, you can't beat them. I am 6' 245lbs and they float me no problem. So much fun and so versatile. If you are looking at these, you should definitely buy. No regrets!

Love this float! Easy to get on and off. Comfortable whether I lie on my back or stomach.

This float is way better than an inflatable float. Our rowdy boys have blown holes in anything inflatable within 30 minutes. This is worth the cost.

This is a nice thick float same as you find in any pool store. Compares to TX Rec float. Expected the need for it to gas off as other reviews described minus one star for strong odor. Do set outside to allow fumes to air off. Do not set inside house garage or a shed as odor will linger. There is no noticeable smell outside after a weekend. Works great hold up bodies comfortably. Purchased one came back for a second one. Plan to store by hanging on pole running thru headrest.

Comfy, love the color. There are a few dabs of extra rubber (or whatever the coating is) on the edges, but it doesn't affect performance. I love it because my pup can be on this float without me worrying that her claws will pop it - she loves the pool!

We've been buying these for years now and they are great but some things are a bit off with the most recent one we purchased. First off, it has an extremely strong chemical smell. So much so that we've been unable to use it, very noxious fumes. It seems to have improved with some weeks in the sun but I still don't want to use it yet. Also, this one seems thinner than ones that I've purchased from Sams in the past so the quality seems to have gone downhill a bit.

Unfortunately these are a no go. I'm on my second float that went right back in the box after opening because of damage. With pool floats you can't start with peeling. I have another brand that is holding up on its second season. I wanted to love these because of price and I love Members Mark but with floats they're just subjected to too much to start out damaged.

Great float but the chemical smell is not going away. I unfortunately did not save the boxes (I bought 2) as I would have returned them.

This float had a terrible odor. I tried two different ones, same thing. It’s a nice float but something has to be done with the odor. I would not recommend.

Smells bad. Tried airing it out over a week. Can’t handle the chemical smell. Returned.
