[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a regular razor blade shaver. So I am always on the look out for good and new shaving products. I first heard about BIC Soleil Shine disposable five blades razor through Bzz campaign invitation. I am familiar with the BIC brand and have used BIC razors in the past, but I have never heard nor used a five blade razor before. I have always used three to four blades razors in the past. My first reaction was intimidation. I was intimidated because I was afraid a five blades razor would cut my skin more easily or leave razor burns. However, I wanted to try the five blades razor because I wanted to see if it would provide a close shave without the cuts or razor burns. And also to see if five blades razor perform more efficaciously than three blades razors. So I happily accepted the campaign and began using the BIC five blades razor on March 16th. The first day I used it, I was full of fear so I was very careful as I was really afraid I would cut myself. I made sure not to press the five blades razor to hard upon my skin and to shave slowly. To my surprise, the five blades razor did not cut my skin nor leave razor burns. Furthermore, the razor worked efficiently because the razor cut all the hair within the first and second stroke. The razor left a close shave without hurting me and without repeating the stroke multiple times to cut hair. I was impressed! Then, when I used it the second day, I was more relaxed and used the razor more freely. And again to my surprise, it did not cut me or leave any razor burns. And most impressively, I received a close shave with minimum strokes. I continued to use the BIC five blades razor every time I shaved until now April 12th. Till now, the razor has not cut me or left me any razor burns. And more effectively works than three blades razor. Three blades razor work great at first, but quickly diminish in results. I am honestly impressed because I was not expecting BIC's five blades razor not to cut me. I am not sure about durability as it has not been a full month that I have been using the BIC five blades razor. However, since the razor is a disposable razor, I predict it will not last long. So I am not sure if it's worth buying two sets of five blades razor for more of a price than in comparison to more than two sets of three blades razor for a lower price. Since both types of razors may not last long, a cheaper price razor may be the most cost effective. However, if BIC's disposable five blades razor last for a good while, then it might be worth the price to buy BIC's five blades razor than other disposable three blades razors. Overall, I am really impressed with the product and would recommend it.
