Upon first look you can tell it was a great quality, solid built mattress. We both have back issues, and we are feeling better after sleeping on it. We haven't felt this well rested in years. It fits a standard queen bed frame perfectly. You don't have to use a box spring. Although, I am using a box spring. Because I love the extra height. The website recommended using a very thin pad. Similar to a yoga mat to protect the mattress. I highly recommend this mattress for a good nightsvrest
