After 3 years of owning the Q-See security camera system, I am finally tossing it in the trash after buying a Night Qwl DP2-161-4L system. Q-See was impossible to set up, could never get it connected to my internet, never could view the cameras on my t.v., and customer service was non-existent. I wasted hours trying to get it working correctly. This past October I bought a new Q-See DVR and it never worked properly and I am still waiting on an e-mail message that I sent them 3 weeks ago. I am done with that company. Two nights ago I bought the Night Owl DP2-161-4L and tonight I decided to try setting it up and it was basically flawless. I followed the layout work instructions, downloaded the Night Owl Protect app to my S8 phone, scanned the DVR code, and it set itself up on my phone fairly easy. The only setback that I had is I completed the firmware update and I had to work through a few extra steps to get my phone set back up. Once I completed this I had to access the visual on my t.v. and go to DVR menu, Maintain, System, and select "Reset Default". Once this was done, the system reset itself. I then logged into my account and reset all the choices that I made before the firmware update. I then went to my phone app and re-scanned my DVR, and the system reset itself and I had connectivity again. I can hardly believe how easy the Night Owl system is compared to Q-See. Never again, I am staying with Night Owl. Thanks!

I am in medical and technically challenged. The app is easy to use, dvr as well. Picture quality on both is clear, day and night. My old system was grainy and slow and this is 100x better! So thankful to have this unit. We have it in all of our outbuildings, pond house, and home and it doesn't use much bandwidth at all. Doesn't lag.

I decided to go wired this time around. I have an attic, so the installation wasn't too hard at all. The app is easy to use. Now I have that peace of mind that I wanted while away from my home.

Now they all are pretty much in real time. I like that I do not have to worry about the batteries going dead. Seeing the images at night as clear as they can be. Great security system with no monthly service fee.

There wasn't any problems with the installing of them. Installed the wire cameras easily. I like the way the lights come on when someone comes in range of them. This is a very nice security system. And this is a very high quality product. The resolution is very clear on the cameras. Let's me know when anybody comes around. I feel very safe now. I have nothing bad to say about this product. Very easy to use. Can view on monitor or smartphone in which I use both.

The real-time alerts are extremely helpful and make me feel safe. As a single Mom, it's great to have peace of mind with the real-time alerts, clear pictures, easy installation and DVR, CCTV and the fact that there are no fees for the hard drive disk storage. It is so nice to have a complete system come in one box!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had these Night Owl 12 Channel 4K DVR with 1TB HDD and 4 x 4K Wired Light Cameras professionally installed for me so they were done right and as soon as they were up, I was instantly impressed with how easy the app was to set up and use (even for me) - I have an iPhone and the set up was very easy. The cameras are also great, I love the very bright spotlights, which add extra security. The cameras also have a very wide view so I can see so much more than with my previous cameras. I am purchasing another set, which will cover my entire property.

The images are really clear and the night vision is also clear. The spotlights are a nice touch and work as a deterrent to keep trespassers away. I love the look of the cameras also, they arent bulky and an eyesore. The app is easy to use and was easy to setup.

We can watch all the corners of our house, our dog, visitors, and the car. Definitely recommend to anyone who asks and I show them how well it works. Only downside, The light stays on for some reason.. I think it's the indicator light but otherwise it's fantastic to have. The tough times we all have to deal with, I'm glad to have this security camera set up!
