I have owned Night Owl in the past and still have some older systems in place, but this new one is sweet. Love the spotlights on the cameras, great for my location. The app works great and I can switch between my different Night Owl DVRs. Pretty easy install, and I am not that handy.

This is the second Night Owl system purchased. The first one was damaged from a power surge. The new system works better, buy is still a little difficult sometimes to see the cameras on the cell phone. It doesn't always want to connect. I can't say if it is the internet connection or just the way the system operates. The video is very clear with the new cameras. It's a great system for what it cost.

I really like that there are enough camera to go all around our home 24/7 and that we can check on our home while away. It was a little blurry at first but also got that under control. This security system too, is smatter than ever. It happens to have a ton of high-end features with a lot of appeal. First, it has 1080p HD live streaming, free person alerts and 4K image sensor. That 4K image sensor allows for a feature called Super-sight that zooms in on a person and tracks them within the camera's field of view. It also has night vision, cloud storage, motion tracking and HD video for top-notch video quality with multiple wired spotlight cameras. This pack comes with 6 small wired cameras included. With a little monthly fee you can get facial recognition, with which you can create a database of friends and family in the app and then receive custom alerts when the camera recognizes them by names. It has a bunch of additional features, including detection zones and advanced notifications of everything in motion may it be, people, animal, vehicle or package deliveries. I am still learning a little more about its features everyday. It's amazing how improved security technology makes us feel more secure when at home or outside the home in real time.

Not so good...the cables! It was not difficult to install. My husband and I installed all the cameras by our self, but all those cables where a hassle. The hard work pays off!

This product is well worth the purchase and for a non-IT person as myself it is overwhelming or too much. Great product to ensure your property is safe.

This is my husband's and I first ever camera for ho e security either outdoor or indoor. 12 Channel 4K DVR with 1 TB HDD and 4 x 4K Wired Light Cameras is the system that we set up. It is most definitely not as hard as we made it to set up. The fact is him and I can't even make a ham sandwich together LoL. Anyways it's a pretty cool system. Almost easy to install (depending on who you have help you), very easy to use after installation, and quite cool. I mostly use it to watch the wildlife in my yard at night or daytime and it's quite easy....actually I spend far too much time wating what these cameras show me. And I know it's probably not relevant but my favorite things to watch on the dvr is this Coopers Hawk I named Nancy and these two Great Horned Owls (no names for them!) Who are natural enemies. I love the detail and colors of the videos from the dvr I get to watch of what goes on and is happening on my property. And it's so easy to access the cameras feed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this surveillance camera set to replace my old battery operated cameras . Picture quality is great! It’s not match to having the battery operated camera quality . One camera can capture a large area so I was able to drop downs from 9 cameras to 4 cameras and still capture the same amount of area. Installation can be a pain . But once you have one camera down they all go pretty quick . My suggestion would be to plan out where you are going to run all your cables first and than attack the installation. The app is great , once you play around with it for a few days you’ll have it down . The spotlight leather is also great , not a lot of cameras have and actual spot light built in. Don’t think about it too much just buy the system it’s well worth it .

Installation can seem a bit overwhelming when opening the box but there are step by step tutorials and videos you can watch, if needed. Plus, they have a website and number to call if you have any difficulty with installation or setup. App works well with the system. The 4K makes picture quality very clear! Spotlights are bright and definitely light up the night outside. Spotlights can be turned off for ones used indoors. I like the fact that you can expand the system and add more cameras later if needed. Very pleased!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Night Owl Wired Security System works flawlessly. The 60 foot cords fit hardwiring that are included were plenty for our application, but longer cords are available as well. The camera instillation was quick as we were able to run the wires outside on the walls. We do have previous experience, so that should be stated. Directions for in wall running of the cords were also included and quite thorough. Where these cameras really shine is the picture quality. Through the app you can check in from anywhere with wifi and see as if you were there. Less than 5 second lag time and alert notifications are helpful. There is no need for monthly plans and fees with the included hard drive. The human detection settings work well, but other things still occasionally trip the light. Overall it’s a great product and was exactly what we needed for keeping an eye remotely on our property.
