I went for the extra firm because I have chronic back issues, and I've notice lately that my posture wasn't great. At first when I laid down on the mattress I was kinda taken back due to the fact that it was so taut, not much movement... I put my mattress cover over the mattress, followed by a fitted sheet. Then, I added my 2 inch memory foam mattress topper. That made a world of difference. I'm m I stay a stomach sleeper and I have to say I felt quite comfortable. When I lay on my back I can feel the curvature in my spine straightening out, and when waking in the morning I'm not as stiff or hunched as I was with my 8 year old previous mattress. I think it was a perfect choice, and looking forward to many more restful sleeps. If I were to change one thing I would have wanted strictly a firm mattress , but do believe that within a few months the mattress will soften up and I will continue to enjoy it

Like another reviewer stated the memory foam remembers to well and leaves a recess in the mattress were I sleep. I find myself having to rotate the mattress every month or so and sometimes place folded blankets under the mattress to offset the recess. I am 6’ 250lbs which is not ridiculous size to cause such a continuous recess in this mattress. I have only had the mattress 4 years.

The mattress feels a bit firmer than what I would consider medium, but it’s super supportive and has enough give that you can sleep on your side. After setting up the bed, we decided we would sleep in the guest room for the night for review purposes. Sorry mom and dad, we decided to keep the bed for ourselves! LOL! Since we LOVED it so much we ended up switching our current bed with this bed. Now we have this AMAZING bed in our room. It’s so comfortable and fluffy! I was afraid of it being so soft that it would hurt my back, but it surprisingly didn’t! I HIGHLY recommend this bed for anyone needing a good nights sleep! I’m a side and stomach sleeper. Sleeping on my side it feels good but sleeping on my stomach it’s kind of uncomfortable. The bed has a lot of support though and is overall comfortable to sleep on. And for the price of the bed, it’s definitely worth it!
