Customer reviews for Firestone WeatherGrip - 235/60R18 103H Tire forREAD THIS REVIEW **FIRST**
I changed the original from Continental brand all season tires to these, on a company van. The originals were good overall. In fact, I've tried many brands and found Continental to be the most dependable and predictable tire in any weather; even with my "extreme" driving style. There are other brands out there which offer more grip on dry roads but wear out faster. There are other brands still that feel sportier when changing lanes or on twisty roads but they are less predictable in extreme braking or on ice/ snow/ rain etc. Believe me when I say this; Continental high performance all seasons are the BEST in my book because regardless of driving conditions... Not just because they grip hard in curves and lose traction at the itmost limits in a gradual and communicate manner.. but because I know what to expect from Contis if I need to react to emergency situations in city/ interstate traffic or sudden obstacles on the backroads in the woods. Rain or shine (and even in mild snow) Continentals get you home safe; and they even happen to last long and be fairly quiet too. I know what you're thinking...(isn't this a review for the Bridgestone?) Well yes. But I need to establish what MY criteria are when reviewing tires and make it clear I'm not ordinarily inclined to buy anything other than Continental. But that being said, this Bridgestone was all I could get to replace the worn out tires on my van and I need to admit, I was very impressed. The first thing I noticed is that the Bridgestone had a wider track than the Continentals they replaced. The traction was equally good in rain and snow and the grip was surprisingly good in dry weather too. Strangely enough, the Bridgestone was actually dramatically smoother and quieter going down the highway and when hitting potholes and expansion strips on the highway it no longer felt like a bone jarring slam that shuddered through the whole frame of the van. But here's my point; I love Continental. Generally they're awesome. But I'm thinking that ANY type tires, as they are, will tend to get louder and be rougher on the road than new ones. So YOU have to temper your opion when reading reviews and take everything with a grain of salt. Another thing; different cars get along differently with a given type of tire compared to another. So when reading reviews its good to look for people who are driving the same car or at least have the same preferences/priorities in tire requirements when discussing their reviews. NEVER judge a tire just on the numerical score... But back to the review. I consider myself a car-person and like to drive "swiftly" and still prefer the Continentals in any weather on any car. BUT... This Bridgestone Weatherbeater is one seriously good tire. (That being said, I've only driven about 5000 miles on them so you'll need to ask somebody else if they STAY good for 40k miles or however long they're sup to last. Hope this review helps you find the tire that fits your needs best.
Great Tire. Can't go wrong with Firestone
These are really good tires in dry and wet conditions. They are quiet on the road, they handle really well, and they make my car a more comfortable ride. I haven't had a chance to try them in winter conditions yet but I'm sure they will do fine. Overall the WeatherGrip is a great tire and I will definitely purchase them again when the time comes to replace my tires.
Purchased From Belle Tire Who Did Excellent A++ Job!!
I purchased these tires and some are saying you must replace all 4 tires with these tires and yet I had a flat tire that started to leak again and then I got another flat tire on a set of 4 tires which has 1/2 the mileage on them and they are also A++ tires and that is the General Altimax RT-43 H Rated tires. Yet, I put the two good ones on the back and was able to get my rims with the flat tires up to Belle Tire and I wanted just a front set of tires and so I purchased two of these tires and put them on the front and tracking correct. Belle Tire did a excellent job on the mounting and balancing of the tires. They feel the same as the General Altimax RT-43 H Rated and that is the Firestone Weathergrip H Rated. I have driven on them some and they drive excellent in the rain and dry conditions. They balanced very nice and have a very nice ride quality to them. They should also do a very good job in the snow because of the stagger step and also release on the open sides of the tires. Thank you for the tires and these are very good tires and as long as paired for either front or rear they drive fine with some other tires. I intend to put about 40k miles on them and get another set of 4 tires and I might get these if they are still available at that time because they are very good tires. Thank you for the tires.
SUBIE CAN DOOO
Bought these for my Subie. I live in Oklahoma and we get all kinds of crazy weather. Not the snow that some get but we almost always get a good shellacking before we get out few inches of snow. These did just fine for my wife and I. And when we get a good Okie tornado storm blow through we can get several inches of rain in a very very short time. Not sure if anyone has ever used the Oklahoma Highway/street systems but lets just say that they would have to work pretty hard to make it up to sucking level! These tires never failed or let me down. And a good old Okie summer day can see a temp of 110 so you can only imagine the street temp... again, never failed me in the least. Soooo..... are these the best, maybe not, But I've not found anything that I like more. But more importantly... these mounted on my sure footed Subaru make for a safe drive. That peace of mind when my wife is driving the car is well worth the price of the tire!!
Weathergrip 225/65/17
These tires were recommended to me by my local dealer. I am so far pleased. The tires are a little noisy(Barely noticable) as I was told. The ride and handling is excelent. As it is Summer I have yet to drive them in any adverse weather. I purchased them because I was told that they are better than the LE in the Snow. I am looking forward to trying them out.
Reputation
Bought these for my son's Jeep Liberty. He is going to college in Michigan's upper peninsula where they measure the snow in feet, not inches. I am hoping to hear good things from him after driving in the snow. I've had Firestone snow tires on my Jeep and have been very happy with them! I plan to buy some for my daughter's car this fall.
Great tire for snow and rain
Just purchased our second set of these tires for our minivan. The first set lasted 3 years and approx 60K. We love the traction in the snow and rain and they are quiet on the road. Lasted longer than I expected. We have been very happy with these tires.
Snow Event
We have gotten over 2 ft. of snow this weekend. When I got caught out in part of it. I was very happy with my new tires. I didn't slide, I didn't spin, they worked like I was hoping they would. Other cars were struggling, but I wasn't. I am also happy with how much quieter they are on dry roads compared to what I had on prior. Now if they last as long as they should, I will be one super pleased customer.
Not a 65000 mile tire
First winter, these tires were amazing. After 29000 miles on them, they are worn out . They are incredibly noisy and don't provide very good traction anymore. I tried processing a claim with firestone about the premature wear. Their response was too bad, 3/32 is typical wear and not excessive. I thought that when I purchased a 65,000 mile tire, I would at least get 40000 out of them. Not with Firestone. I will now shop for a different brand of tires. I already purchase a new set of tires for our Highlander and they weren't Firestone.

Just got them
Several hundred miles in the upper peninsula snow and ice they handle well , they look like snow tires but their not, so they'll be good longevity 65,000 mile warranty. Put a weather guard and a Firestone winter tire side by side there isn't a lot of difference!
