have been a mobil 1 user since early 1970's . currently using high mileage mobil 1 on 04 camry with 140,000 on clock started life using regular mobil 1 . have a 2011 expedition using 5w30 extended life since first oil change & pull a 7,200 lb boat from n. illinois to so. fla. & back . the camry still gets 40 mpg on the highway which I think is helped by mobil 1. I'm a true believer of mobil 1. & will continue to use.

258k miles and won't stop.

I purchased my '05 Corolla with 18k miles on it in 2007. I've used Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 since then. My engine still purrs at 258k miles as of March 2018. I have seen a small reduction in performance and fuel mileage in that time frame, but that is to be expected. My engine does not burn oil. I just wish the car would go bad so I can upgrade to something more roomy! Corolla recommended oil change is ever 5k miles. I do the oil changes myself. I change my oil filter every 5-7k miles. I change my oil every 10-16k miles.

Getting me to 300K miles all on Mobil 1

I've been putting nothing but Mobil 1 in my cars after talking to an engine specialist in the Ford SVT group who said that they only run Mobil 1. It has never given me a problem and my 2000 Ford Expedition is coming up on 300K miles. 1 engine - 1 motor oil. Save yourself some money and only use Mobil 1.

excellent!!

My daughter had a 2008 Subaru outback that by design, always used some oil. However a few years ago the timing belt broke and ruined the valves ( another story). after this it smoked and used 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. I tried everything it just had a lot of blow-by sucking thru the PVC. Just as I was about to give up, the Mobil 1 10w40 oil and the oil usage cut in half. I bought the extended performance oil and she now uses about a quart every 4000miles when I change it. I am not kidding when I say I was looing at rebuilding this motor. at 132000 after getting 2 catalytic converters under the PLEV warrantee of 150,000 miles. Now its as good as new oil consumption wise and im happy to say we have zero converter issues at 174800 miles. Unreal!

Have always used this oil in my 1998 Lumina

I have owned my Lumina for about 5 years now. I got the car from my grandmother and she always changed the oil every 5000 miles. Good thing she did because when I got the car it had 126K miles on it and they were all city miles. When I got the car it ran well never leaked oil or used oil in any way. The car now has 172K miles on it and its starting to show its age. I am starting to use more and more oil every change. Personally I attribute the long life of the engine free of leaks and using oils to using mobile one Extended Performance. I have used it from day one with my car and when my friends cars were all on there last legs mine was running great. My car has only started using a considerable amount of oil in the past few thousand miles. The car is just getting old not to mention I installed a hood scoop and re-routed the air intake to suck fresh cold air. I think just the cold air intake alone increased performance and in turn has created more wear to my engine. I am currently still using M1Extended Performance but am looking into switching to the high milage oil. I use other products like Lucas Stop Leak to compensate for the old age of the engine. The reason for switching is because its more convenient than having to add all sorts of additives to my oil. I will continue using engine restorer because that stuff works like a charm for low compression issues. All in all the Mobile 1 oils are by far the best for your car. No other motor oil will ever touch my engine.

Used it exclusively for two different cars

I used this particular oil (extended performance 5w-30) on a 2007 toyota corolla and a 2006 nissan quest van. Different results occurred. The corolla is now at 167k miles and still going strong no engine trouble that I am aware of. On the nissan quest it was a different story though....at 170k miles i noticed significant oil burning and at one time I took it in for an oil change and mechanic said I had only 2 quarts left in the engine. At 210k miles the camshaft bearings gave out and I had to get rid of the van instead of paying over 4k to repair it. Maybe it wasn't the oil as much as it was just the build quality of nissans are not as good as toyotas?? I'm not certain what the real explanation is here. I never ever ever went over 6,000 miles even if it was an extended performance formula and I used the mobil 1 m1-108 oil filter on the nissan all the time. M1-103 on the corolla. We sold the corolla to a relative 6 months ago as-is condition and I haven't heard any issues engine wise from the buyer. The corolla doesn't burn oil and it always passes smog test even at 11 yrs old. Same oil, same viscosity, same extended performance formulation on both vehicles.

Dependable oil

I use to change my oil every 3,000 miles with pennzoil. But now that I am retired the last 8 years. I only drive 2,600 to 2,800 miles a year. For the last 3 years,I have changed my oil every late march,or early april with mobil one e.p. 5w-30 and mobil one filter. No problem with my 1999 ford tarsus s/e vulcan,128,000 miles. This will prbly be the last car,I will ever need, and Mobil One,will be one of the reasons.

Don't waste good oil

I read these reviews and see those people that still change at 5k or 8k. I've owned three cars that made it to 200k and always changed at 15,000. That's what it says on the container. I strongly believe you are wasting good $$$ if you change more often. I've told many people that I don't change my oil very often and I don't believe I have changed anyone's behavior. But maybe if you're on this site and reading this you may stop throwing out good oil that's wanting to protect your engine for 15,000 miles. As a matter of fact I think I need to go longer after reading some of these reviews!

Still protects after 1 year in the engine

I have been using Mobil 1 since around 1980. I do my own oil changes, and since the Extended Performance came out, I change oil once per year per car (we only put around 10,000 miles per year on our cars), and I change the oil filter at 6 months. One thing I have always done is feel the oil after I change it, by putting some of the drained oil on my fingers and rubbing them together. This oil feels better after 10,000 miles than Standard crude oils do when new. I have never had a mechanical engine failure , ever.

Been using exclusively for over 10 years

I have been using Mobil 1 synthetic oil for over 10 years in all my and my son's vehicles. None of them have had any mechanical motor issues in all that time. Prior to using Mobil 1 I had 3 vehicles have major mechanical engine issues. I am not a mechanic but am mechanically inclined and am convinced this is some excellent oil.
