Keeps my engine at its 100%

Have been using Mobil 1 oil ever since I purchased my first performance vehicle in 2013. Loved how it kept my corvette running smooth. So I started using Mobil 1 EP for all my other vehicles. It may be a bit over the top but, it keeps my mind at ease knowing all my vehicles regardless of OEM recommendations that they are being taken care of by quality oil.

Excellent protection cold or hot

This oil is extremely well rounded and worth the extra cost over almost all other synthetics. It is a fair deal at Walmart for 28.68$ / 5qt jug however, I wouldn't pay 10$ a quart for it at the local auto parts store. I have a 2012 Genesis Coupe 2.0T with 141,000 miles on it and counting. I have used this oil for the majority of oil changes, all of which I have performed myself. I live in northern ND and this vehicle faces extreme cold conditions for a quarter of the year. I have never run into any engine related problems the entire time I have owned this vehicle (bought it new#. I would never run this oil for 15,000 mile intervals being that it is a turbo engine however I have pushed it as far as 6400 miles with no problems. I have always been a loyal BP fuel customer and, as a result, have tried to convince myself to switch from this oil to Castrol Edge Extended Performance especially since Walmart now carries it in 5qt jugs for the same price. After a couple Castrol oil changes I have switched back to Mobil1. Although the Castrol held up fine, I can't help but feel like it is an inferior product to Mobil. After 5800 miles the Castrol poured out extremely thick and I do notice better fuel economy with Mobil1. I drive a lot and constantly monitor wind, temp, etc. and take this into account with fuel economy. I believe there is a good reason why Extended Performance Mobil is consistently selling out at both Walmarts around here. If your going to spend this much on an oil change, I would strongly suggest using this Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil and also a quality oil filter #Not a Fram, etc.) There is no point in using oil of this caliber with a 3-4 dollar filter. My only complaint about this product is the price of Mobil 1 E.P. oil has gone up significantly in the last year, I believe in early 2014, I could buy it for $25.17, then it went up around April/May to $27.97 and now, $28.68. If it goes up another $3.50 next year I will most likely consider something different. As comforting as it is to know I am using a product that will tolerate anything I would possibly put it through and then some, there are many other oils less expensive that can sufficiently protect my engine too. In the end, I recommend this product to anyone looking for a top notch oil. It is worth the extra 2$ investment over regular Mobil1 in my opinion and based on the research I have done online. If you are looking for a quality synthetic at Walmart, you will find most everything has a similar price. I would strongly advise choosing this motor oil over Pennzoil, Castrol, etc. based on my experience.

Oil did not look good when changed after 10 months

I used Mobile 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 for the first time. We reached 15,000 miles in 10 months. The oil was black, of course, that is to be expected. What wasn't expected is the viscosity was thick. So I will either go back to regular mobile 1 and 7,500 miles or try again at 12,000 mile. I have not decided yet.

Mobil 1 5W-30= Is #1

I have used Mobil 1 for as long as I can remember and never had a problem with any of my cars or trucks. The first time I used Mobil 1 I noticed the engine ran a bit cooler and the gas mileage improved. I also use Mobil 1 Oil Filters and Mobil 1 Grease. I change the oil between 7000 & 8000 miles and the oil comes out of the engine almost as clean as it went in the engine. I know this because I change it myself. A Friend of mine had a 1995 Ford Thunderbird with over a 100.000 miles and the oil was always black as coal. I told him I would change oil 4 times in a row for him using Mobil 1 10W-30 and if the oil did not start getting clean he would not owe me a dime for the work or the oil. He agreed and after the fourth oil change We could barely see the oil on the dip stick. Well in the end he was happy and I got paid. The only sad part about this story is shortly after we did the experiment he was rear ended on an exit ramp and the car was totaled and thankfully no one was hurt. But too this day Mobil 1 Oil and Mobil Oil Filters are the only products he will put in his cars. P.S. Mobil 1 Oil is the best cold weather oil that I ever used! Recommended by my very picky family.

My brother who has been a professional mechanic for 25 years, recommends Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil. My dad, who has been an avid Havoline and STP fanatic all our lives, also uses and recommends Mobil 1 Extended Performance. I've been using it in my turbo charged Volvo, my normally aspirated Saturn Sky, and my daughter's Honda Civic for over 2 years, changing the oil and filter at 10 -15,000 mile or 1 year intervals. I am a fanatic about my cars and only want what is best for them. (I was unaware until today that Mobil 1 had filters, so I've been using another premium brand.) The oil is very black which tells me it is doing a good job of keeping my engine clean, and it still runs out thin when draining. Also, after changing the oil, on first start up, there are none of those few seconds of engine clatter waiting for the oil pump to refill and pressurize like there is with conventional oils, indicating that the oil has left a protective film in my engine. I'm impressed. I do have a question; my Saturn Sky (no turbo) has always had lots of valve clatter. It may be normal, I don't know. It currently has 75,000 miles on it and there is no valve adjustment on this engine. Would Mobil 1 High Mileage help with this? It's a high revving engine so I don't want to do the wrong thing.

If only the world was as great as Mobil 1 !

Vehicle: 1997 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 - 5.7 Liter - 6 Speed Be it summer or winter, Mobil 1 Extended Performance (in my case: 5W-30) has never let me down. Protection to 15,000 miles is extraordinary. And at 4,000 miles, the oil still looks very clean. A proven attribute to the Mobil 1 (M1-111) Extended Performance oil filter. (and K&N air filter) A match made in heaven. Despite my confidence in this oil going the 15,000 miles distance, I choose to drain and refill with new Mobil 1 Ext. Performance along with a new Mobil 1 Ex Perf. oil filter at 3,500 to 4,000 miles. I just feel better about this... you know... the "peace of mind" thing. I can't help but wonder what other astounding oil and fuel breakthroughs await us car & truck lovers from Exxon-Mobil in the future. Thanks.

About oil life...

I've been using Mobil 1â„¢ Extended Performance 5W-30 for about four years. Really an excellent product. I like the fact that my oil changes are only twice a year, but I've never felt completely comfortable with the thought of going near 15,000 miles between changes. Close to 10,000, I tend to get nervous. Has anyone tried going 15,000? I'd like to hear some comments. And guarantee, schmarantee. What good is a guarantee when your engine is baked? Thanx.... philip

Long Life oil to engine

I have been using M1 EP for decades now. My vehicles have 160000 miles to over 400000 miles using M1 EP. I use 5W 30, change intervals at 10k miles, oil protects engine perfectly. I once blew my radiator in a Ford Focus and drove 40 miles with no coolant. Mobil1 EP protection is outstanding

20,000 miles between oil changes

I drive a Nissan Sentra with 260,000 miles on it. I've always used Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 motor oil. I change my oil every 20,000 miles. I also always use the Mobil 1 extended performance oil filter. At 260,000 miles, my Nissan runs as good as it did when it was new and doesn't use any more oil between oil changes than it did when new. This is by far the best oil I have ever used and will never use anything else. I even use Mobil 1 oil in my riding lawn mower.

Really 15k interval . you can believe.

Using currently in my 2017 Nissan Titan. So far changed twice at 15k. Oil looked VERY close to new both times. NOT dark at all. I am a used car dealer.... I know what dirty oil looks like. My truck was towing a heavy RV trailer (7500 LBS) about 3rd of time. Also I bumped up viscosity to 5w30 Not a big fan of CAFE guidelines telling me what's better for MPG. I almost went 10w30. I have been pairing this with "Purolator" BOSS oil filter. and feel very confident about this oil for my truck. Love the 15k interval and the feeling you have the "BEST" oil on the market in your truck. Will continue to use. Little pricey yes. But saves with the interval.
