The range of the radios is affected by environment. Different levels of range are on the packaging displaying this. If you feel your radio is faulty, please reach out to support@midlandradio.com for technical and warranty assistance.

Midland appreciates your feedback. We hear your frustration and would be glad to help with recommendations if these radios do not reach the range that you need. The GXT1000s have an average range of 1/2-2 miles. We recommend setting them to a high setting. The customer experience team will gladly answer any further questions through support@midlandusa.com

The battery charge should last up to 5 hours and they need to be replaced every 9-12 months. Sometimes when radios are purchased from a 3rd party they potentially could have sat on shelves for a longer amount of time than ordering directly from Midland, which might have depleted the batteries.
