the salmon has a good flavor to it whether you heat it up or eat it cold but the only reason I'm getting three stars is that is extremely salty and I'm not sure if this is from the fire roasting or from the smoking but I was really surprised.

I am happy to read that some people don’t like this but it’s hard to believe, as the Davenport, IA store has been sold out the past two visits. I love it. It is flame roasted and cut into slices, perfect (normal person) portions, the flame roasted taste is my favorite. If I ever find it in stock again, I will be buying extras!

*ahem*.. ingredients: Salmon with color added, salt, dehydrated vinegar powder. Maybe it was a different product in the past, but this is the current list in April 2019. Love it. Soft and tender. Not the hard tack that you would pack for 3 weeks on a camping trip through the desert without refrigeration. 1 weight watcher point per slice for those who are interested

I eat a lot of smoked salmon. This is by far the best! the slices are just the right size and thickness. There is a slight crust on the outside and it is melt-in-your-mouth tender. The best part is when you open the package, it doesn't have the "a fish just exploded in my kitchen" scent that some of them can. Not fishy at all. So delicious! I highly recommend.

When I first saw this in the store I was skeptical so I only purchased one package. After trying, now when I go to the store I purchase a minimum of 4. This is truly the BEST. I eat as a snack or as a meal. I've tried the suggestion on the back of the package and love it. My daughter has come up with a marvelous recipe. Well take two slices of bread add a flavored cream cheese to one side of the bread then add slices of salmon as the other slice of bread and grill it as you would a grilled cheese sandwich and it is to die for. Please continue producing great quality products. You can't go wrong with this purchase.

For a brief time in 2017, Sam's Club sold a relatively expensive salmon loin product from Norway's Foppen. For true smoked salmon connoisseurs (and considering how much I eat of this, I think I'm one), those small crosscut slices were heavenly. The consistency was "melt in your mouth", and not a chewy, tougher slice as sold by most other smoked salmon packagers - which may be foreign to some buyers. Unfortunately the salmon loin was a one-time thing and is no longer carried by Sam's. In it's place is the more reasonably priced Flame Roasted Smoked Salmon, and it is a worthy replacement, made for Member's Mark by Foppen. The flame roasting recreates the consistency of the loin product and makes these slices delectible. If you truly love smoked salmon - and if you're aware of the Foppen slices sold at a competitor's store - give these slices a try, with an open mind. Once you adapt to this style, you'll find the other chewy/tough smoked salmon slices far inferior. No, I don't work for Foppen or have any other interest, except to see this become a permanent addition to Sam's Club inventory for my own edification.
