While you'll see visible results within 24 hours, it takes a minimum of 3 weeks for Ortho Weed B Gon to completely kill weeds. It's a slow and steady approach, but it's proven to be much more effective than faster-acting weed controls in the long run. Make sure the target weed is on the product label. Ortho Weed B Gon controls listed broadleaf weeds, but there's no guarantee for unlisted ones. For those stubborn weeds, you might need to spot treat them again in 14 days. Temperatures below 60 degrees or above 90 degrees can make weeds dormant. Cold nights can also delay weed death. Don't worry, the product will still work, but it might take a little longer. Drought-stressed plants can't absorb the herbicide as easily. Give them a good watering, wait 24 hours, and then spray again when the leaves are dry. Mowing 2 days before or after application can reduce the leaf surface area, making it harder for the plants to absorb the herbicide.
