The main reason for air pockets is due to our toothpaste being filled into the tube via the open crimped end, which needs to be sealed afterward. The airspace ensures that the product is not in contact with the crimp during this sealing process. There is no air pressed into the product intentionally. It's helpful to know toothpaste may become thin and watery if it has been exposed to heat for a long period of time. However, it is still safe and effective to use.
