I have found the mattress to be firmer than the one in the show room, making me wonder if it will become as comfortable as that one was. Hips and shoulders are less tight, but still feeling some of that after sleeping on my side. I was told it would take a bit of time to soften up a bit, so here's hoping.

The first night I slept on the Adapt mattress I woke up with no more body aches. Only slept on it twice so far and it is a little firm, but everyone who has a Tempur-pedic says it will take about a month to break in. I have Tencel sheets and don't sleep any hotter than my old innerspring mattress. I highly recommend getting a power base so you can lay in zero gravity which takes all the pressure off your lower back. As a total side sleeper, I think I could learn to sleep on my back. Raising the back is great for acid reflux or when you just can't get your pillow the right height. Looking forward to the mattress being broken in and will post another review at that time.

I wish I had paid more attention to below 4-star reviews. I have had it over 30 days now and it not only has the suggested cover on but also 2 other mattress pads which I didn't skimp on. It does conform to your body when sleeping but rolling over is like crawling out of a hole every time you roll over. Wish I had known there was no way to return this mattress unless purchased thru Tempur-Pedic.

Watching TV in bed and reading in bed is very relaxing, like sitting in a very comfortable recliner. It is like separate beds with the Twin XL King set up while still seeming as one Single King Bed when using one solid King Upper Sheet while having two fitted Single Twin XL sheets underneath. We looked at a new Tempur-Pedic but the price was daunting for us. So I decided to look at other mattress companies. After researching the top ten recommended, I decided to do the "test sleep" offer. When the first mattress test didn't work out, we tested a second, and a third and a fourth. Each of them had good quality customer service, as does Tempur-Pedic. Each had fine shipping and delivery, as does Tempur-Pedic. Each of the mattresses had desired features of quality, comfort and support, as does Tempur-Pedic. On each one I was able to fall asleep within minutes of laying down. However, with each one I still woke up with back and hip pain. So we decided to pony up and purchase a Tempur-Pedic mattress. No regrets. It has been terrific. We both sleep well and I wake up with no pain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] But not the kind of impression that stays behind when you get out of bed. We are big and tall and we've loved our mattress. It's supportive and comfortable. We have a Split King with adjustable base and the snoring has improved, too.

We knew it was time to buy a new mattress when you wake up hurting, feel all the bumps and fall into the hole and cant get out from your old old mattress. We began by researching the difference between box springs and foam and hybrid. Then we tested out about a dozen mattresses by laying on them. Tempurpedic was not rated the highest in consumer reports but just like a movie critic you cant believe everything you read or hear until you experience it yourself. Our new mattress was very firm the first month and took some getting used to as it began to soften up and form to our bodies. But while this was all happening and normal we did not experience the pain of waking up anymore nor getting caught in the mattress. We purchased the adjustable bed also. Though we were not looking for adjustable we thought down the road that it would be a good investment and since we may never need another mattress again it is an investment for sure as the price was steep but you get what you pay for. We love the new mattress and sales person was very knowledgeable with all products that he sold.

Recently engaged and realized we needed a bigger bed. Fiancé is 6'4" and my queen size Adapt was not suitable for us long term. There was no way I was going to revert back to different mattress and I don't think he wanted to either as he has become pretty spoiled with my mattress!

We purchased our first Tempur-Pedic because we were not achieving a good night's rest. My husband purchased one without either of us testing it out prior to purchase. The morning after our first night's sleep had us thinking we had made a mistake - we ached from the top of our heads to the bottoms of our feet. The reason was that our bodies were out of alignment from sleeping on a mattress without proper support. After a few nights on the new mattress we were getting a excellent night's rest and our bodies were back in alignment. It came time to replace our Temper-Pedic and because there are no retailers in our beach area we ordered the same model we had the first time. I would not suggest ordering without trying the options out prior to purchase to make sure an appropriate model fits a customer's needs. We had a lucky experience our first time. A testament to the quality of Temper-Pedic mattresses is that after 15 years our first mattress still provided a good night's rest. As a result, we had no body realignment issues with the new mattress. There is no other mattress we would choose. I recommended this mattress to a family member who was also very pleased.
