Great battery

I bought 4 batteries in June 2017. They are starting to lose charge more quickly and I have decided to replace them. I checked the water every other week religiously...They MUST have this done.............so many do not or check every few months....

Verified Purchase

They work well

We use the batteries for solar application. They seem to charge and hold the charge well.

Why all the negativity?

I'm surprised at the number of negative reviews. I have 2 of the EGC2 used in series for my off grid travel trailer. These are charged and mainteined by a Renogy MPT charge controller. Going on year three with no complaints, no issues. I really belive battery system performance id directly related to maintaing and optomizing your system properly. Good clean connections, proper wire sizing, never over-discharging and keeping an eye on heat and water levels. I'm going to buy more to expand my reserve capacity.

Will buy again if they ever go bad

I bought 4 of these for my travel trailer with a solar system in 2013. I have had them for 5 years and they still work great. I take very good care of them. They can get low on water in the summer when it's hot in as little as one month. You have to keep on eye on them and maintain them, I have, and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase.

Replaced Trojan t-105's

I replaced a pair of 4 year old Trojan standard T-105's with a pair of these batteries, about 18 months ago. These are re-labled DEKA GC-15 batteries made by East Penn. They are a couple of pounds heavier than the T-105 but the performance has been comparable in a small solar application. I do watch the water levels closely, and have a 3 stage charger to top them up monthly and never go below 50% capacity. Cons: Warranty ends at 12 months, with no proration to 24 like Trojan. Can't use the Trojan HydroLink watering system. In my application these are just as good as the T-105 Trojan.

Well Worth the Money

I installed 4 of these in a 5th wheel about three years ago. WORK GREAT. Boon-docking and generator starting and have never missed a beat. There is some poor to bad information on this page about batteries. Research on Youtube from only people that sell campers so that you get it correctly. DO NOT go off of someones opinion. ( if you research my info, you will find it to be true) Also NEVER replace only one battery in a group of a series or parallel configuration as your power will ONLY be as high as the weakest battery. REPLACE THEM ALL and they will serve better and last longer. Also when you install a group, either in parallel or series, ALWAYS buy batteries with the same manufacturing date. It matters especially for longevity. I have NEVER known the folks at Sam’s to not be of help. They want to keep there jobs and they do have managers. I also have the Duracell batteries in three of our cars. GREAT QUALITY PRODUCT. The 5th Wheel came with 2 12V (volts) batteries of which I gave to my daughter and replaced them with 4 Duracell 6V DEEP CYCLE batteries in a Parallel, Series configuration. If your battery has a CCA, Cold Cranking Amps, reading, it is NOT a TRUE deep cycle battery. You want low power draw over a period of time. Not HIGH power on a short burst. Two 12v batteries in Parallel @ 120A (amps) each = 240A, Two 6V batteries in series @ 230A each = 460A giving you much more usable power. If you have the room, with FOUR 6V's in Series and Parallel, you double it. I am also a big proponent of solar on an RV. If you can afford it, go with a MPPT charge controller as it gives a higher percentage, approx. 15%, of power, especially in low sunlight. Even on a hundred watt panel in low sunlight you will be trickling your batteries. HAPPY CAMPING!

6 V Golf Cart batteries EGC2

I used 4 EGC2 six volt batteries from Sam’s Club as house bank on my sailboat. Never a problem. The charging was done by Solar panels, shore power and alternator. I am doing a preventive replacement now, after 5 years of product use as a live aboard. I replace the EGC2 with four 6V AGM GC2, also from Sam’s Club. The 5 year old batteries are all still working!

Failing in less than two years

I got 6 of these pricey batteries for my golf cart 20 months ago thinking that they would last longer than the less expensive ones. Two have failed after only 20 months. They have been carefully maintained. I now understand why they only have a 12 month warranty. Clearly Sam's Club and the manufacturer knows that they won't last very long.

not worth the money!!

I bought 6 of these EGC2 batteries for my golf cart on 5/20/12 for $569. Thought for sure they would last at least 4 years. WRONG!! It does say on the battery FREE REPLACEMENT 12 MONTHS. But they fail to tell you that is it!! No pro rated replacement after that. Throw them away or spent another $600.00 if you want some more batteries!! Even the $125 each battery is only warrantied for 12 months!! I will buy no more batteries from Sams.

Didn't last 2 years

Bough 2 and used for solar, charge controller kept them charged like it should for a year after a year the batteries couldn't hold a charge anymore. Never exceeded 50% use, I hardly ever hit 10% use only used this system for a few light bulbs around the house. These batteries are way to expensive to die so quickly this is ridiculous. No wonder they slap a sticker on the front saying "One year free replacement" My car battery cost less and has a 3 year replacement warranty for crying out loud... Will never buy another battery from Sam's Club.
