Yep worth it

Don’t let name brands or price make you think quality isn’t here. There’s a reason restaurants use what they do time and time over. I have the name brands and love them, but when it comes to production line repetitive tasks, comfort in your hand over time, consistent cutting the way it should, working through the juices and whatever… these knives don’t disappoint. My husband and I both find these knives easy and his hands are almost twice the size of mine. The blade is just the right length and the grip is strong and controlled. You can narrow core strawberries with a choked up grip comfortably, then quickly pivot to a full fist grip to slice away. Lastly, even if you home sharpen and hone your knives like I do, paring knives are just the hardest when it comes to that every-so-often overhaul. I’ll take good care of these the same as my others, but all considering, I can’t pay to have my paring knives sharpened for less than these cost new. Just saying.

Backwards for paring

So I wasn’t paying attention until I got the knife in my hand … but the economics of the handle means you can only really comfortably hold it one way BUT that way feels opposite of a paring knife …. I’d think the blade would be towards you when you pare and peel using a knife ….

I still have a lot of the white handled knives but recently went to replace one I had for fileting. You can still find them at Walmart but they are more expensive and in packs so if you only want a specific type you have to buy them all. The pack at Walmart is by a brand called Tramontina and contains one pairing knife, one 6" boning knife and a chef's knife. Very disappointed Sam's stopped contracting with them for these knives and will NOT be getting and of these with the rubberized black handles. Also, disappointing that they are not dishwasher safe. Would have to assume that is because of the handles. I have had too many products with stange black rubbers that over time get nasty to ever buy this. Sam's if you are paying attention please get rid of these knives and bring back the old ones.
